dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) My latest Hardware purchase - i10 1.2 Kappa Magna Model, White Net Price 4.21Lacs on road Meerut (4.36L - 15K Loyalty bonus cheque which i will receive after 90 days) Cost includes - Free Insurance, RTO Road tax, 3 Year Warranty Free Freebie received - Original Hyundai 2 DIN 4 Speaker Music System with USB, Aux IN, Wireless Remote, CD/MP3 etc. worth Rs. 17.5K After market Accessory Installed - Autocop 8850 DLX Model 3.4K; Mats 700Rs.; Mud Flaps OE 250Rs. WHY - As it was not to be my primary vehicle, my other option was Ford Figo; Petrol version of Figo stood nowhere near to Kappa Engines refinement and performance; Diesel Figo was 1.4L Extra which really did not make any rational sense to go in for unless your running is more than 15k KM per year (which mine is not). i10 has better resale; cant trust Ford still; i10 sells 12K cars in a month, 2nd only to Alto (19K); Other Options - Swift K series had waiting of 2 months and I hate companies which create waiting; Ritz was again not VFM in comparison to this deal; Weblink - http://www.hyundai.com/in/en/Showroom/Flash/SRFOVERVIEW/DF_IN_SR_EK_080313114302.html Edited August 30, 2010 by dkaile

manujgupta 5 Report post Posted August 31, 2010 My hardware purchases: Got 3 Dell Mini's for Rs. 17,100 each. Has a 10inch screen, 1.66 Atom processor, 1 GB Ram, BT, WIFI, Camera. Needed them for accounting purposes. Really serves the purpose well. Also, came with complete cover warranty, so peace of mind for atleast a year. Also, got a samsung laser printer all in one "SCX-4521F" for Rs. 12,500 with bill and warranty. Earlier had a HP all in one, laserjet 1015. The only hitch was that HP was not flat bed. Needed a good all in one with a flatbed scanner. Samsung is really serving the purpose well. Have already had one refill in the toner cartridge. Know a guy who comes at home at does it there itself for Rs. 300.00. Though the printer prints absolutely fine after the refill, it constantly keeps on showing the toner as empty. Dushie 30 Report post Posted August 31, 2010 Don't use the refill cartridges for more than 3 to 4 times as the print head will go for a toss, its always better to use a original cartridge after 3 to 4 refills and then once the original is empty refill it for 3 times then use original again, This process will help in maintaining longer life for the printer. raccoon 53 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 +1!! A review would be really welcome. Optimus certainly beats Galaxy 5 in the looks dept. and a 3 MP AF camera, but not only does it come with the obsolete 1.6, it is upgradeable only till 2.1 (LG isn't even talking about 2.2, so assuming it will never get 2.2). That seems to be its biggest negative point.

dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) I am planning a 40 incher LCD this festive season for my room. I was being offered SONY BRAVIA LCD 40" KLV-40EX400 for 57,500/- at Sony showroom (MRP 61,900/-) specs - http://www.sony.co.i...uct/klv-40ex400 Now the same lcd on their US site is for 599$ - KDL-40EX400 - http://www.sonystyle...552921666077651 which I am getting directly from US through GEB (with all shipping and customs being their responsibility) for just 38,000/= Only thing is that its 110V (will need a 200 to 110 V converter available for around 800 bucks here) and its Colour System is only NTSC (no PAL). I dont think that should be an issue as that is only for Broadcast tv and we as it is will be using only hdmi or tata sky which operates independent of the colour system. Am in a dilemma what to do but the price advantage is nearly 20K.... Hmmmm..... Let me think.... some thoughts on importing lcd's from US - http://hifi-india.bl...tv-to-work.html Edited October 11, 2010 by dkaile

abhi.r 95 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 ^^ You can try Gaffar market in Delhi! there you can find almost all models of Sony at very nice price. If you want I can give you a shop's name and contact number . his prices are 500rs more than other in gaffar but very reliable person. I personally bought 1 Sony Wega (CRT), a Sony handycam, 2 LCDs (one sony other samsung), 4 Ogeneral AC from him and refered his name to my fren as well. You can rely on him, and visit his shop and check the product yourself before buying!
abhi.r 95 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 yes gaffar market is grey market, so no warranty. and if you can wait till diwali or till marriage season, you can get better deals.. price depends upon sales and quantity available in the market. last year I bought 1.5ton Ogeneral Split AC @ 22700 this price prevailed only for 1day and i was very lucky enough to visit his shop that day so grabbed his offer. abhi.r 95 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 dk what abt warranty? also what is GEB?? GEB = E-bay Global Easy Buy Thru GEB you can purchase products directly from US sellers without any hussle of Duties/Courier etc... The prices mentioned in GEB includes everything (product cost+couier+duties... etc if any) and you get the product home delivered!

Bhai saheb myy friend got a LCD from US with NTSC and he had trouble in it - finally he had to opt for NTCS to PAL converter for 2K for it to work even TATA Sky didn't work chk with them first, i think receiver with HDMI shall work. BTW: Android Rocks....
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 ^ Hmmm... Vinay Bhai, tabhi to yahaan par post kiya tha, ki kisi ko koi problem aaya hai to bata dein... will research the issue more...
rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 @Dkaile Why to go into power converter and NTSC PAL issues. The model you mentioned is available on Ebay India for Rs. 47,600+500 Shipping. This comes with Dealer Warranty. It is the same EX400 TV but in India they call it KLV series instead of KDL in US. E Bay India Link http://cgi.ebay.in/S...=item415355c6b0 I bought Toshiba 32" REGZA RV600 Full HD 2-3 months back at 31,990/- from Hyper City Mumbai. They provide additional 2 year warranty for Rs. 1600/-. This was after a 1 month exercise wherein Full HD of Sony, LG, Samsung was evaluated by me. Ultimately i liked this Toshiba. This one renders most natural colors. With Sony, the rendering was not natural with too much of digital processing. The picture looks stunning when you see it in showroom for few seconds. But when you observe closely after a few minutes, it does not look like very natural as the camera would have shot it. Toshiba's specs for Constrat Ratio, Brightness are good. It has Audyssey EQ for sound which you do not find in many LCD's. Plus 10 Bit Video processing. Contains all Inputs including USB. Only con is USB plays pictures only. But i think this is a minor thing as generally you always have a DVD player with USB. They offer free wall mount which also costs some 1500-2000 in case of many brands. Brightness and automatic light adjustment sensor is there. For normal TV and Set Top Box input, Toshiba was spectacular compared to All. Full HD input was stunning. Practically it has everything Sony offers. Toshiba has entered India for LCD's just a year back and has only now started serious marketing. I was surprised to find the same model i bought priced at some $ 700 in US market. I think they want to penetrate India market so prices are kept low here. Toshiba's styling is conservative and won't turn many heads but i think intelligent buyers will first look at features, value for money and quality. They have a 42" in the Same series with Model No 42RV600. This was available some time back here at Vijay Sales during a scheme for Rs. 39,990/-. Do check out Toshiba. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 ^ yes, what you are saying makes sense... But the price I am getting is 37.5K (after using my discount voucher) which is even 10K cheaper then the ebay india price (which incidently is also imported from Dubai and without warranty; let them say whatever they wish on their listing)... Its available for 45K at Gaffar Market in Delhi (same imported model) and that is what is mouth watering and tempting me... I have compared picture qualities of this model with samsung and lg and have found it to be the best overall bet in this particular segment... and I am a gambler in things technology... so its like a challenge for me to get the same thing at 20K cheaper then the Indian warranty market... I have always got things imported in the past and warranty I dont worry about as I have got the resources and knowhow to get it serviced if the need arises (which incidently hasnt happened much in my past experience)... But the 40K tab on the model you are saying is worth looking at.. BUT when I tried searching, I found no such pricing on that particular model... If you could elaborate if its actually available as on date...
