dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Just bought WD TV Live Hub - http://wdc.com/en/pr...cts.aspx?id=570 Teardown - Cost - 10.200/- from Nehru Place with bill and warranty AnandTech review - http://www.anandtech...ve-hub-review/1 Pros: 1 TB hard disk bundled, enough for most non-tech savvy users' contents HDMI 1.4 support plays most existing 3D content on 3D TVs Expanded online services compared to previous generation product Improved user interface compared to previous products in this lineup Supports sync of USB drives and digital camera contents to internal hard disk through USB Easy control of playback and interaction with the streamer through Web Remote and USB keyboards TrueHD bitstreaming and WMA(Pro) decode work fully Cons: Many bugs existing in previous generation products still left unfixed (mostly fixed in current update) GbE port seems more like a marketing gimmick, rather than actually adding to the performance Content can be transferred to the internal hard disk from a computer using the network only (BIG Negative) Can't stream multiple HD streams from the Live Hub, though the specifications seem to indicate that it is possible For a flagship product, WD should have tried to provide full HD audio bitstreaming / Blu-Ray ISO support / advanced media streamer features (ISO files were working when I last tested) Pretty neat price for 1TB media player. Only thing is that transferring 1TB data onto it is a pain and not as simple as in Playon HD. Otherwise this is better in all other aspects. Rahul Always 87 Report post Posted May 26, 2012 Wanted to shift my desktop to a more convenient location in the house. With MTNL already providing a Wifi modem, picked up the iBall Baton 150M Wireless-N USB Adapter. Even though the price mentioned (including the website is Rs 1099/-) managed to get it from Rs 800 after some hard bargaining. The component comes with 3 years warranty and with an iBall product, am sure would definitely have peace of mind. It was easy to install and Windows detected it immediately on installation of the bundled drivers. It is supposed to have 150m range indoors and 300m range outdoors (line of sight) so sufficient for me inside the same room. The speeds have not deteriorated even though I have shifted from LAN to Wifi. In fact have even noticed a slight uptrend as far as internet speeds are concerned.
