shubhanyu 13 Report post Posted July 31, 2010 As an urgent solution (source: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google%20Mobile/thread?tid=53d875e70942e732&hl=en) The way to solve the problem is (at least in my situation - returning from a holliday in France) 1. Choose SETTINGS - WIRELESS CONTROLS - MOBILE NETWORKS - 2. uncheck everything unnecesary ie. "Data Roaming" and "Enable always-on mobile" - 3. Change setting on "Use only 2G networks", wait 10 seconds, then change it back. 4. Now try NETWORK OPERATORS. Here you will get a network error (Not the "com.android.phone" error)Just continue and you'll get your wanted network. The reason for this behavior is that android uses a new type of network and supports old ones. Some countries dosen't use this new network. When your android phone makes a handshake in these countries it'll accept without error, but when it returns to the new type it won't connect. This must be a bug and you can solve / workaround this by doing the above

::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted July 31, 2010 ##RTN# makes your phone set to original (meid, esn, prl and almost all) so only programing is required.

Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 1, 2010 ##RTN# makes your phone set to original (meid, esn, prl and almost all) so only programing is required. RTN reset restores the Default NV file which is stored in phones hidden folders it will restore ur meid , wipe ur MIN no , restore prl but it does more damage than this on many handsets specially htc hero , many hero after doing ##786# reset cannot connect to qpst then

Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 donot try 786 reset on hero specially in ur case coz 90% of hero wont connect to qpst after that it will tell u roaming list error and after that it becomes very difficult to provision phone for data i have got such handsets and i know how tedious it is to set data on them without qpst
