ami1 237 Report post Posted August 7, 2010 For people trying out the unixpsycho kernels like SR71 or F104 or any other experimental overclocking kernels who get stuck in a reboot loop, you can avoid doctoring you pre by using the following process to memboot the pre by providing boot image from your PC or laptop during boot How to Memboot your Pre if an experimental Kernel puts it into a ReBoot Loop 1. Download: http://unixpsycho.co...alm-joplin-3430 2. Copy the file to your novacom folder a. for windows: program files\palm\sdk\bin b. for windows: /opt/Palm/novacom/ 3. Put your Pre into recovery mode (connect usb cable to PC and hold volume up key while putting in the battery – you will see a big USB icon on pre screen) 4. Run following command: a. on Linux: (after opening a shell) /opt/Palm/novacom/novacom boot mem:// < uImage-2.6.24-palm-joplin-3430 b. on Windows : (after running cmd.exe) cd \program files\palm\sdk\bin novacom boot mem:// < uImage-2.6.24-palm-joplin-3430 5. In case you get any error, try first opening a novacom command prompt to you pre first and keep it open while you run the command in s.no. 4 above. 6. Your pre will boot up and you can then delete the faulty kernel and install the recovery/stock palm kernel or whatever kernel was working fine for you.
