Accessing Internet On Cdma Connection In Blackberry 8830

Tech gurus,

Please clarify is to possible to access internet on CDMA connection in Blackberry 8830. I have heard that internet could be accessed only through GSM network. This is will make it very difficult to use GSM for data and CDMA for voice as only one out of GSM/CDMA works at a time.
