Partial Fix For Loosing Browser Icon On Removal Of Battery /sim Change

This is sort of a partial fix for people using bb 8830 /8130 /8330

now many people have an issue

that when you switch the sim cards , or you remove / reinsert battery or many times switch gsm to cdma mode , you loose the anworm service books and inturn loose browser icon and then you have to re do loading service books again

well there is a simple solution to this problem

people using 8830 and 9530 just need to

---- go to Cdma service menu by dialing ## 6digit spc and press green call key

---- change the BB reg id to home sid , ie 14655

and save and reboot

well what happens is , when u set REG ID TO Home SID , that time reliance pushes 4 service books of it Rworld OTA

so you dont need to load anwron service books

once u set bb reg id to 14655 , you will automatically see browser icon swhoing reliancemobileworld

it opens rworld by default

But only problem here is that , though after doing this setting u can always use browser in cdma mode , but for 8830/9530 , to use browser in gsm mode you will still need to load service books

otherwise if u just use data in cdma , then you dont need to load service books again and again

My registration ID was already 14655, that's why I was seeing a browser icon with name Reliance Mobile World...I didn't know it's coming because of registration ID...i thought it's coming because I used Reliance PRL...the browser icon always used to go away whenever I removed and re-inserted the battery...but Reliance Mobile World icon used to stay...so I stopped loading service books again and again...anyways...nice info doc...

the reliance mobile world browser icon stays because of reg id as 14655 and not coz of prl

well many sellers and people use reg id as 2004 and in that case u will not get reliance mobile world browser icon

EDIT:

Have changed BB Reg ID to Home SID ie 14655 (and saved before exiting back from edit menu) but it keeps getting reset back to 2004 once i reboot. Is anyone else having this issue ?

So that is the reason for the disapperance of Browser in my 8830 after inserting SIM and disabling CDMA and reverting back to CDMA... Interesting..

But still now I am using OperaMini without any issues.. I don't like the BB Browser, so I don't miss it much..

Is it OK, Dr sir??? Or OperaMini may also stop @ some time??? Please tell me.. Also I am using TataIndicom in my Verizon BB8830..

well you guys must not be saving bb reg id

what u should do is

save bb reg id first

close

then in main cdma prgramming screen see if bb reg is is 14655

then press menu and save again

now phone will reboot

^ Yes, I realized we have to save TWICE. Once in Reg screen and once in the main screen again. Thanks.

Now the BB browser says Not Authorized for every website ? Though opera keeps working. Does it matter if i am using sam1 etc or MDN ?

Hitesh wasted 1.5 hrs to help me today on the same.. no luck.

Looks like we need to fall back on V 4.2

Fix by Doc on my BB8830 (4.5.0.175) is working fine and am able to see Reliance mobile World.

Its working with UTS username as you mentioned.

I had forgotten to change my default browser settings after that, so it kept opening Rworld. (Thanks to Hitesh too for getting back both browsers on TViewer this time)

Lets hope it never disappears again.

as already i lost the browser due to sim changing then i didn't put it again but tried this method... Rworld browsewr is there but it ask for MIP(mobile internet plan) There is only one browser option in adv. settings i.e. rworld browser.. Even i have checked service books of reliance that installed by default after changing reg id. they are showing proxy ip's...

well the reliance service books will give u rworld browser

which means it will open up proxy based rworld only

for non proxy based u will need to load anworn service books again

thats why i said its a partial fix , nahi to complete fix na bolta

but for most people it doesnt matter if u use rworld or hacked browser as you wil be charged in both

Lekin when i try to connect to rworld it says unable to connect!

Can use it as a modem though!
