ssr 10 Report post Posted January 2, 2005 (edited) Is that 64 bit ? Yes It is AMD 2800+ 64 bit. I just installed 98 bz i did not had any other OS to test at that time. When i Installed win2K i is working fine exept crashes in some games. When i installed WinXp it is also behaving in the same way. suddenly CD drive will dissapear and after 10 minits system will freeze(not even Ctrl+alt+del will work) u find the Sis Mirage integrated graphics good? I am still trying to figur out which type of graphics card it is havin built in. But it is far -far better than the built in cards found in other mother boards. (Atleast u can see the game in very low level settings).. I will defenetly go for Mid range AGP card after a month. I am downloading 3d mark i will post the result soon. What is difference b/w professional version and Home version of windows? Edited January 2, 2005 by ss_rakesh

So u have pixel shader support. which means the onboard card is better than Geforce4MX. which game are u talking about? Prince of Persia? plz post the 3dmark2003 score. deepu 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Does AMD64 has heating problems like some of the previous AMD CPUs
biosbhai 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2005 nope! none at all! just get a boxed processor. for socket 939, the Thermal design power is 67W and with cool and quiet technology, the power consumption is as low as 10W!!! So no heating problems
Rohit Rocker 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 i have done something else.i brought an AMD2600+ barton last week.after researching for about 3 weeks i found the best package.i simply overclocked amd2600+ by 20mhz fsb and i got the performance of 3000+ without any harm.i am running at a 225Mhz advantage now. I got the krypton c18G motherboard with an onboard GEForceMx440.i can share upto 128MB frame buffer for that.I got another 8X expansion slot for future.512MB ram for OS and another 128MB stick for the display card making a total of 640MB of ram.The total package costed me only 12500 :'( what i mentioned here in the current setup is the best price vs performance balance 23027 Hey Ganesh, overclocking is definitely a no-no. My friends computer (AMD) got damaged because of that. I think it is due to the excessive heat generated. Anyway, those of you who love AMD for gaming and want to read something abt Playstation click here http://www.zdnetindia.com/reviews/hardware...nsl,117288.html

vira_haresh 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 Hellloooo!!! This is Hareh Vira From Mmbai.., I am an It Security and System Adminstrator.. I have read your Mail.. And Would Like to suggest according to my view AMD64 2800+ will bew the Best choise as You may be knowing that All the AMD64 bit processors work ata 1600+ MHZ FSB with 640KB CACHE L2 compare to Intel HT 3.2 GHZ that's work at 800MHz FSB Maximum at 1024 KB (1 MB) L3 Cache. More the FSB more through Out Put You will Get. I would Not suggest you to go for MSI K8M Neo-V for getting the performance. AS Chossing the motherboard is the main thing . AS the performance of the CPU will only been seen as per the stabality of the Motherboard with good Architech. Go any Brand Motherboard but look for some measuare topic.. 1) Go for Nvida 3 chipset (Msi , Asus, Gigabyte) 2) Go for Full ATX size Board (12" x 10.5" aproximately) 3) Dont botherabout onbard AGP.(Good quality Board doe not have onboard VGA) 4) Use Only Transend memmory 400Mhz (Dont compromise on quality to use Hynex) 5) Go for G-Force Ulta insted of ATI.( Good for Graphics and 3D Modeling) 6) Go for S-ATA Hdd Drive .( Minimum 80 GB Segate only) 7) Use only Orignal VIP SMPS of Konark 400 or 450 watts. (Cost Aprox 1800/-) 8) Use Only VIP 1050 Cabinet for best cooling and Heavy duty System.( Look for wide and Deep Cabinet) Rest you have the knowledge Feel free to contact me on cell for better suggestion and advice freely on 09324374003 Mr. Haresh Vira Reply me you you read this mail Hey guys.. i m plannin to upgrade my system and i have 2 choices.. either i take AMD64 2800+ processor + MSI K8M Neo-V Mother board.. the descriptions of which are given on [ Tech Tree ] Or i can take a 32bit architecture of AMD Athlon or Intel HT technology. Which one you would suggest is better for current needs... [coz there aint much 64 bit computing applications which we regularly use] . The october CHIP magz doesnt highlight AMD64 much better than its 32 bit edition. and i have planned to take a graphics card.. either.. Power Color ATI Radeon 9800(SE) (128mb) - costing near 10k XFX Geforce FX 5700LE(256mb) - costing near 7k.. any1z got suggestion(s) ...which i should go f0r.... 22898
