kesav 127 Report post Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) Dear Friends, I would like to know whether any phone available in the market which works in following bands simultaneously(Dual SIM/RUIM is fine). CDMA 1X 800 MHz EVDO Rev. A 800 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800 MHz HSDPA/HSUPA 2100 MHz I think blackberry tour 9630 meets the above requirement(but unlocking to work with GSM operator on the fly is difficult) but do we have any other phone? Greatest 55 Report post Posted September 28, 2010 ^^ 9630/9650 is an awesome phone, but it will not work simultaneously (Dual Standby). Only one connection will work at a time.. either gsm or cdma..

kesav 127 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) Please read the post carefully. China Telecom bound dual mode phones are only DualStandby Dualmode2G + 3G in CDMA only and not Dualmode3G. Motorola Glam is also similar type and not Dualmode3G. Hence it'll not be a member in this list. Edited January 25, 2011 by kesav
kshah 452 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 Dual Mode in GSM means GSM + UMTS band. Combination of bands differs from country to country. AFAIK

kesav 127 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) The ICON PRO, an EV-DO + GSM Smartphone, and the TWILIGHT 7, a 7” EV-DO/HSPA Tablet, leverage Qualcomm’s chipset technology and the Open Market Handset (OMH™) initiative to deliver Indonesian consumers the unparalleled flexibility to choose any mobile network, regardless of technology. Jakarta, April 25, 2011 - Leading Indonesian telecommunications company IVIO today announced the launch of two exciting new devices–the first multi-mode Android smartphone and tablet in Indonesia, allowing consumers to be truly connected anywhere, any time, on any network. The Icon Pro smartphone (IVIO DE88) and the Twilight 7 tablet (IVIO MD70) are also compliant with Open Market Handset (OMH™), an initiative focused on increasing device variety in the CDMA ecosystem. The Icon Pro smartphone has two SIM slots and supports CDMA 1xEV-DO as well as GSM/GPRS/EDGE simultaneously, while the Twilight 7 supports EV-DO or HSPA and its family of technologies, based on the SIM card used. Both devices operate on the Android 2.2 “Froyo” operating system, and are powered by Qualcomm Incorporated’s MSM7627™ 600MHz processor. IVIO is also pleased to announce that it has partnered with Telkom Indonesia and its subsidiaries to initially bring these devices to market. “IVIO is delighted to introduce the exciting and innovative Icon Pro and Twilight 7 devices to Indonesian consumers,” said Sam Ali, CEO. “We are committed to empowering consumers with greater connectivity, allowing them to access a world of information and entertainment at their fingertips. We are also excited about our collaboration with Qualcomm, who is the world leader in next-generation mobile technologies, as their MSM7627 chipset solution will enable Icon Pro and Twilight 7 not only to operate on any network irrespective of technology, but also to deliver superior CPU and graphics performance.” “Qualcomm congratulates IVIO on the launch of Icon Pro and Twilight 7,” said Harry K. Nugraha, Senior Director and country manager of Indonesia for Qualcomm. “We are pleased to enable these devices that deliver instant anytime, anywhere connectivity, fitting the consumer lifestyles in Indonesia. As OMH compliant, open multi-mode devices, the Icon Pro and Twilight 7 simultaneously support EV-DO and HSPA technology and allow consumers complete freedom of network technology choice in Indonesia and worldwide.” For its Indonesia launch, IVIO is partnering with Telkom Indonesia, the largest cellular provider in the country with over 100 million subscribers across both its CDMA (Telkom Flexi) and GSM and HSPA (Telkomsel) networks. The multi-mode Icon Pro and Twilight 7 allow Telkom to highlight its technology leadership and to offer its customers unparalleled data services choice, coverage and experience. Telkom is providing full data access services through Speedy, FlexiNet, and Telkomsel Flash in the form of fixed and mobile data bundles and content. “Telkom Flexi welcomes the launch of the IVIO smartphone and tablet as they complement the suite of broadband and digital lifestyle services that Telkom Flexi is promoting” says Mas'ud Khamid, Executive General Manager of Telkom Flexi. Telkomsel is providing broadband HSPA data service bundles with the IVIO devices that can be used for email, chatting, web browsing and social networking. Telkomsel operates the the largest broadband network in Indonesia, with over 37,000 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) including 8,000 Node B (3G BTS), offering consumers the best user experience for their digital mobile lifestyle. source :: http://ivio.com/news.php?id=6 This article proves that DE88 is not a EVDO/HSDPA device but just EVDO/GSM-2G device. Hence, DE88 will not join the club of this thread(Dual Mode 3G handsets). Edited April 27, 2011 by kesav
