Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 I had asked this as soon as lg 2130 was launched Unfortunately they dont allow you to upgrade your b/w handset with a new b/w handset.. Only from b/w to colour
Dhirens 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Unfortunately they dont allow you to upgrade your b/w handset with a new b/w handset.. When I inquired options on *333, a guy informed me that LG B/W can be upgraded to LG moonlight. And cost is Rs.10401 ( DAPO 21000 payment ) When color handset is available at this price who is gonna buy B/W ? And RWW say that moonlight phone is not available for upgradation. RIL people talk anything .........
Chirag 5 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 What if we give 2030 to a new customer and buy a 2130 while retaining the no. ? would that be possible?
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 What if we give 2030 to a new customer and buy a 2130 while retaining the no. ? would that be possible? I dont think they will allow you to do tat... Also many would prefer lg rd 2130 tat 2030..
Dhirens 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 What if we give 2030 to a new customer and buy a 2130 while retaining the no. ? would that be possible? If *333 guy gave me correct information, you can upgrade to 2130. Pay 10401 upfront if you are DAPO 21000 customer. If you transfer your handset to new customer under postpaid, you will save Rs.3000. Its not worth getting 2130. Only change in that phone is that you can send sms to 5 at a time. Go for 7230 whenever offered. Rgds, Dhiren.
Dhirens 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Finally I have dropped the idea of upgrading a phone. RWW employee advised me to encash payorder So I will encash my PO soon. I dont think that LG 7130 will be introduced again. When RIL have not introduced SAMSUNG COLOR even after 5 months of last peice sold, they will repeat same story in case of LG. It seems that they want to introduce only new models in very high price range. I am constantly checking availability of LG7130 or offer for LG7230 for upgrade and in last 40 days I have received 40 different answers !!!!!!! So finally I concluded that I need not update my handset till it is dead. Let budget 149, economy 149 and prepaid user enjoy high cost of handsets worth Rs.20900 & Rs.21900. RIL have made 20000+ phones only for budget 149 & prepaid people. DAPO people cannot use such a high grade mobiles. HenceI would rather buy a new mobile at 21000/- which will include STD CUG. Instead of spending Rs.19000 on handset upgradation, I will buy something useful. Those who are waiting for upgradation from B/W to LG7130, please decide what else you can buy from this amount as this phone is not going to come ....... And I heard that Nokia color is coming soon......... And obviously, that phone will be offered to new customers Existing members shall be informed about upgradation by proper media & channels after 3 years !!!!!!!!!! RIL, KARLO CUSTOMERS MUTTHI MAI !!!!!!!!!! Rgds, Dhiren.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 If *333 guy gave me correct information, you can upgrade to 2130. Pay 10401 upfront if you are DAPO 21000 customer. Pay a sum of around 10,000 for upgradation to b/w...!!! I dont think anyone would go for it... I know its silly.. but still if u look for a gsm... you would get Samsung color c100 for around Rs.6000
Dhirens 1 Report post Posted February 29, 2004 Dear Ashok, Now we are married to RELIANCE and cant get divorce, so better to use current phone. They have kept prices too high and at the same time, they dont offer all phones for upgradation. SO i thought I would buy LCD monitor for my PC instead of 2" LCD screen. Rgds, Dhiren. niket 0 Report post Posted February 29, 2004 Dhiren, I Already done that.. last month i had some money to spend so first decided to go for camera phone.. but later i done PC Upgrade. Instead of buying LCD go for 19" CRT or 21" CRT it may be better investment. And FLATRON is the best.
tezo 2 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Finally I have made my mind and may be get rid of RIM. The reason is I just bought colour samsung c-100 for 6.5K it is really good man. May be I will keep RIM don know at the moment. But one thing is for sure that they(RIM) has very worst scheme for upgradation frm b&w to colour. Just imagine 6500 for samasung c-100 with 65K colour + 40 poly + 500 nos. x 5 add.book + infra red so u can add ringtone+wallpaper etc. & wat RIM offer 14000 for LG rd7130???? RIM should think something abt it
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Samsung C100 is really good... My bro too has it.. Thats wat i said somewhere in this topic.. tat compared to GSM handsets... Reliance colour upgradation is costly.. But regarding getting rid of your RIM.. i think you should wait atleast for a month, to see wat offers Reliance will bring after March
iiii_pretender_iiii 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Yea, ashok is right.... March 31st is the hot date... Thats when things come out in the light and decisions will be made... Even im waiting for this. Actually for me its simple... R-surf goes paid and i lose this phone.... reliance is doing ok, but they are not helping themselves with surprising customers with paid services....
Chirag 5 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Reliance is doing ok, but they are not helping themselves with surprising customers with paid services.... Nothing new! All the damn operators do things like these! its jus tht they tell in advance how much they shall charge after how much period... Reliance does not spell it out.. And it seems like a surprise... nothing more... Obviously they are goin to charge for every shiit they give with the phone, and tht the customer has to understand! tezo 2 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Well I am waiting but think if nothing new I will be better go with GSM & colour handset. Let's see wat RIM doing in this area. I think at this topic reliance stands no where. (Colour handset)
