Taiwan market: APBT to offer Samsung dual-mode handset W319

Asia Pacific Broadband Telecom (APBT), the only 3G mobile telecom carrier adopting CDMA2000 in Taiwan, will offer the Samsung W319 dual-mode handset supporting GSM and CDMA2000 EV-DO (evolution-data optimized) Rev.A, for sale at NT$3,990 (US$125) bundled with a fixed monthly charge of NT$333 for voice communications and NT$449 for data transfers in early October, according to Samsung Electronics Taiwan.

This is Samsung Electronics' first dual-mode handset model, Samsung Taiwan indicated.

Samsung W319 features a 2.6-inch 260,000-pixel QVGA TFT-LCD main screen and a 1.3-inch PMOLED sub-display, a 2-megapixel camera, support of H.263/MPEG4 176×144 at 15 frames/sec video recording, 106(H) x 52 (W) x 16.8 (D)mm in dimension and 122 grams in weight.

According to sources in the retail channel, dual-model models account for 10% of the total handset sales volume in the Taiwan market.
