rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted October 6, 2010 I am using Palm Pixi. Tried finding Screen Protector for it but could not get exact size for Pixi. Now i have observed that Pixi has a hard screen surface and it does not get pressed when you touch it (Compared to other Touchscreen phones i have seen). So i am just assuming that the actual screen is covered by some glass surface and even without the screen protector, it will not get damaged. In view of this, i have some queries, -Is a screen protector really necessary for Palm Pixi and does it reduce the touch screen response in any way? -If one puts a screen protector, should it be extended till the Swipe Area or only till the screen. Does Swipe area response get affected if you put it there? -Any source for getting exact size Screen Protector for Palm Pixi? Approx. Cost. -If the exact size is not available, is it O.K. to use a generic one by cutting it? Request Pixi users to guide. Thanks in advance.

I am treating my Pixi like a baby but since Vijay has a screen protector and offered me, i will apply it. Also as he is using the same, i am assuming that there will be no difference in touch screen response after applying protector.
xuketo 7 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 no, no difference to responsiveness. It does save your screen from accidental scratches. Just be careful while applying the protector and not get any trapped air bubbles.

Any links? or is it not possible? If your current screen protector has air bubbles then it is pretty useless and you will have to change it. Best way is to go to a mobile shop and get it replaced as this guys have a cleaning fluid which they apply after removing the old screen protector, rub it clean and then fix a new screen protector. If you have the cleaning fluid with you at home, you can do it yourself also. However practice matters a lot in this thing and if you are not very conversant with it, again the air bubbles may arise. xuketo 7 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 I was looking for "how to" on changing screen protector.. Especially since the one that I got has some air bubbles.. Any links? or is it not possible? One of the tips people recommend is to do it in your bathroom, after the room has been steamed for a little time. [serious, really!] Steam helps settle the dust, and ensures that it does not land up on your screen. It's usually the dust that traps air bubbles. Google for it, you should find some links.
