ani_meher 42 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 Taggle Message: ________________________________________________________________________________________ Dear Users, We have decided to cease our ecommerce operations effective immediately. We will not be taking any more orders from our users. We started Taggle in June 2010 with US$1M in funding to build a sustainable and profitable business by getting the best service and product deals for our users. We have always believed in providing superior experience and value to our users. When we realized that service deals were not giving the best value to users, we quickly shifted focus to only products. Our users responded very positively to the shift and it reflected in our revenue numbers too, we grew our revenues 10 times within 3 months of the shift. However, the current market conditions have many ecommerce players selling products at below cost price to lure users. The only way to sustain the business at this time is to get into a price war and burn a lot of investor money and try to outdo competition in a Last Man Standing game. This practice goes against our philosophy of building a sustainable and profitable company. Hence, weve decided to go back to the drawing board to figure out the best way forward. We thank all our users who have shown trust in us and supported us with their business. In case you have any questions or want to reach out to us we can be reached by email at care@taggle.com Thank You Team Taggle. PS: We will be refunding Taggle Cash balance to the customers, but Taggle Points are not redeemable in cash, please see http://www.taggle.com/tos for details. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Really strange and sad. It's true about 'Last man standing' game.

inception 75 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) soon other non profitable ecommerce website will shut down. The Bubble Burst Begins – Million Dollar Funded Taggle Shuts Shop [Tells The Harsh Truth] Plugged.in says Anyways, good that the team attempted something and realised the real deal early. Hope they come back with a bigger bang [in terms of product and not marketing/funding ]. Don’t worry about the investors, it’s business as usual for them. The last line from Taggle about ‘last man standing’ reminds me of leading eCommerce venture’s founder I overheard saying at a conference, “Our strategy is to wait for every one else’s money to dry down.” I know they themselves are having a hard time now. Meanwhile, from pure hearsay, the situation at Myntra and SnapDeal do not look good. Someone well connected with Myntra suggests that their burn rate is Rs.5Cr per month (a tad difficult to digest) with most of it going to advertising. SnapDeal is also running cash dry. I repeat, this is from here pure hearsay. Edited December 6, 2011 by inception
sougatadc 358 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 ^^^ Just now, I bought 500GB external HDD (Verbatim USB 2.0) @ Rs. 2350 along with 5 card readers @ Rs. 50 each applying dewali special coupon of Rs. 200 discount and provided the delivery address of my sister who resides at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. I'll collect these at the end of this month, when I'll visit there. This is how I got letsbuy.com to comply my order before they declare all their products as 'SOLD OUT'

silent_god 121 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 ^^^ more than 6 months back I bougth iomega ScreenPlay Mx 1 TB @ around 6 to 7k (with some discount code). so, it maybe available @ a lesser price bynow. It has 1 TB of storgae, but no wifi & BT. check out specs on (http://www.letsbuy.com/iomega-screenplay-mx-1tb-p-16229) Again, for pure movie viewing experience it is very good, except it gets very hot after 1 or 2 hrs of play (which makes one worry about hard disc life, but nothing has happend in my 6 month exp). Just you have to identify your need & make a purchase accordingly.

silent_god 121 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 Hi members, I am looking for a game console for my kid (~ 5 yrs). Would mostly require to play games withing range of age group 5 to 9 yrs. I don't have much idea about types of game that are available for different game consoles, but this Sony PS 3 (http://www.sony.co.in/product/ps3+move+bundle) looks good to me. As it has many accessories in addtion to wifi + BD player + hard disc. I just want opinion of experienced member if PS3 has variety of games especially arcade games which are suitable for kids in above group ? also, if it is possible to download games on internet & store on PS3 Hard disc & play ? as I have seen many games selling on DVD for PS3, but no idea if we can store those games on PS3. thanks. rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 whats the risk of buying such phones ? Its mentioned under "unlocked" so would this be contract free ? They are no contract phones but won't work out of the box on Indian CDMA networks. MEID registration, service / voice / data programming etc., will be needed and without that they are glorified paper weights. That's the risk.
