n_iceman 97 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Rather than buying a Blu-ray player, you can also consider buying a Western Digital Media player for about 7000/-. It does not have audio output ie either 5.1 or 7.1 channel and also lacks Optical disk. At one point I thought of that, but won't be useful as of now. It has an HDMI port, which I use to get awesome sound off my TV. This is enough for my needs. Also optical disk is more expensive and inconvenient compared to hard-drives/torrents. In the end, it is your requirement and your taste. I was only suggesting. Cheers

rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 rajan bhai .. any better price than this? http://www.ebay.in/i...=item25730e7f57 and any ebay coupons?? in shopclues there is verbatim's 1tb @ 5569/- .. but i doubt abt their quality ... [ http://www.shopclues...-hard-disk.html ] If you have American Express Credit Card, then Seagate Expansion Portable Drive - 1TB can be had for Rs 5,319 HERE after applying coupon code AMEXONLINE. 15% Discount subject to max Rs 500 on infibeam. Ebay listing you mentioned is USB 2 and Shopclues has USB 3 if that's of any relevance for you. IMHO, Shopclues should be OK still if you want from Ebay only check other listings which has USB 3 and other brands >> http://www.ebay.in/s...86.c0.m14.l1514 Ebay is offering 10% Discount Max Rs 1,000 on ICICI Debit/Credit Cards. Debit Card Code ICICIEOSS1 and Credit Card Code ICICIEOSS2 Tablet looks good as far as specs are concerned. Any one bought from the website or using the tab? It says 3g internal and external. Does that mean it supports sim and calling? It is like any other chinese tablet selling in the range of 5-6K but with one difference: lot of FAKE/Copied/Merged specs on the particular website Fair Deal. No it does not have SIM and to me it looks like a FRAUD Deal instead of Fair Deal. That website mentions following in Return policy, Shipping details, cancellation policy, Terms & Conditions.. Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
kshah 452 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 For tablets, it seems buying online is risk, and better spend few hundred bucks more and buy from local store. Too many fake products :-(
kundalus 24 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Thnx Rajanbhai & kshah.I think its better to stay away from chinese tab unless its from a recognised store.

Thanks Rajan for your suggestion. I never used AMD so little confused. For extra 4k, I get: * Intel (in place of AMD) * 4GB RAM (in place of 2GB) * 500GB HDD (in place of 320GB). IMHO, Acer and Asus both are ok brands, not so great, not so bad. Now what do you suggest ? Edit: AMD deal's Coupon is not valid anyways. So, should I buy above Intel laptop for 20k or should I wait for a better deal? Edited July 17, 2012 by mgdelhi
csmart 472 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) I think Intel Dual core is much better than C60. C 60 is just 1Ghz while intel is 2Ghz... more comparison is here... Edited July 17, 2012 by csmart
rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) @mgdelhi If your usage will be normal browsing, office apps, movies and a little bit of light gaming, then AMD Brazos should be appropriate and very VFM. At a practical level i have noticed that vast majority of people have that kind of usage only but end up spending more unnecessarily behind intel and/OR higher specs. Our doctor Genius is currently using AMD Brazos for day to day use. Laptop RAM's are dirt cheap now a days. You can put 2GB additional for as little as Rs 704 >> http://www.flipkart....17-dada853d67f7 If the superdeal code is not working, you can have the Asus AMD Brazos for Rs 17,080 after gift code GC39P4UA81PE from here >> http://www.homeshop1...86181/cid:3291/ Intel deal for 20K is also good. Won't go wrong with that. Between Acer and Asus, i place Asus ahead. Edited July 17, 2012 by rajanmehta

csmart 472 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 @Tanveer not exactly. they provide enough power for normal users. Intel started production of these processors in order to meet the growing requirement for low cost PCs and laptops. certain features like hyper threading are not there but then it meets the requirement stated by Rajan earlier. And that too it is a second generation dual core processor as it was stated clearly, these second generation dual core processors share the same processing technology & platform as the second generation Core i series processors. And they are way ahead of the first generation dual core processors that came with core2duo, core2quad processors in all aspects. Intel has continued this pentium dual core branding as a lower end processors for budget sensitive customers.

I bought an iberry earlier and really regretted it. The build Quality is bad. The speed is ultra slow. It hangs. It lags. It refuses to start on a bad-mood day. Maybe they have a better model now, but be careful. Read my review in the 'Ipad alternative' thread. LINK Pls post your review here if you buy it. It will help a lot of people.
