Data Loss on Xbox 360 during Transfer

hi everyone.

this request is totally off topic and i understand if i get no response as it might be unappropriate but im lost as to what to dp to solve this issue.

here goes:

Does anyone have a xbox360? did you upgrade to the new 360Slim and what version did you upgrade from? Finally did you transfer the data from the old console to the new using a usb(memory card) rather than the transfer cable?

if anyone can answer yes to all these, please can you message me, as i am having problems as i lost my saved data during the transfer process and was wondering, if it has happened to anyone and how did they resolve it..

i have been able to recovery the data however when i plug the usb key into the xbox, it reads that there data to be transfered, however when i go to transfer the data, the xbox doesnt recognize it. does anyone have any ideas how i can get my xbox to read this data????
