phonegeek 588 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) Hi, I am looking for a Wifi Router. Currently I am having Netgear WGR 614 and using the same for last 2 years but now I feel that its nearing its life term as I am facing frequent disconnections. I am using Wifi for my laptop, tablet and phones. Can someone suggest me a good router as per my requirement. My budget is around 2k. Thanks And yes, if some kind of discount offer is also going on some websites, do highlight them too..... Edited April 26, 2011 by phonegeek
raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 Just 2 years and it has reached its EoL?? Pretty poor router that... Would cautiously suggest UTStar... but I doubt you get it in the market. BSNL used to give those earlier. As for those currently available in the market, lets see what others here suggest. Would be interested myself...

phonegeek 588 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 Thanks Rajan..... A bit off-topic, as I am facing frequent disconnections, I now doubt that it may be because of ISP and not due to Router. The disconnects are random, is there any monitoring program which can diagnose where is the problem?
commonman 228 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 ^^^^ first check the ADSL splitter. try connecting the phone line directly to the modem instead of through the splitter.
raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) After that check the line parameters.... (SNR, attenuation., etc). Do the disconnections happen when you get a call? Edited April 27, 2011 by raccoon

MOBILE FAN 42 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 Is there any product which support ADSL2 Modem + Router and have USB datacard support too ?
commonman 228 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 olive nexus. there are many users in this forum. supports adsl modem on pppoe mode and also usb data card.
MOBILE FAN 42 Report post Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) Olive Nexus is a 3G router. It doesnt support wired BSNL broadband line (ADSL). I came across a device of Techroutes having both the capabilities but it costs 7k+. Update: Sorry, I checked Olive's website, it shows that the ADSL is also supported. However, it doesnt have a built-in modem. So If I have to use it at home, I need to buy a modem first and then need to use Olive Nexus, which I think a costly affair than going to a ADSL2 + Wifi router like TP-Link. Let me know if there is any other view. Edited December 12, 2011 by MOBILE FAN
