why dont check out the blackberry series? 8830 will do. It suits your need well and is within your budget. Cons - does not have cam or wifi.

@drshreenivaas

Checkout this buy sell link on forum from one of most reputed person on forum http://www.rimweb.in...lly-registered/

Though this exceeds your budget by about 2.8k, it the most amazing phone you can get right now in india. It exceeds all your requirements and very few people have access to this phone in India.

Can anyone suggest RUIM based CDMA handset to use with Tata Indicom?

I tried unsuccessfully to purchse one Non-RUIM based one, but couldn't register it with TATA Indicom. Please help me as I urgently need handset supporting android or windows operating system.

Did you buy it from the link i mentioned in post 3 of this thread?. (I mean from HetalDP)? Because he mentioned Reliance and Tata Activation. If this is the case and still you could not register, then you are out of luck i think. If you tried to buy from somewhere else, contact Hetal for the handset he posted and for Tata Registration in the Buy-Sell link i mentioned.

In Tata Indicom Official handsets, i do not see a single CDMA handset with either Android or Windows.

Your only option is then to go for Reliance Network where you get official Android Handset (Samsung) as well as many choices in imported Android and Windows handset here at RIMweb.

That is the main problem with TataIndicom... They have about 5 models in around 1000Rs mark, Have some ten models in sub 6k mark, and three models in above 20k segment (though NOT AT ALL WORTH the money)..

BUT THEY HAVE ZERO HANDSETS IN RANGE OF 8000 to 18000 range..

No. i didn't purchase from HetalDP as it was already sold by the time i was preparing my mind to purchase it.

i recently came across lot of internet sites mentioning fly ivory which may fit to my specifications, but its not available anywhere. i also came across spice D-1111, but after few moments of use, i get severe headache. so didn't buy it.

now, i am really fed up with tata indicom & once number portability comes into existence, i will move to any other GSM or CDMA service provider who will provide equally goood postpaid plan.

thanks for your replies.

If you get a used onr new Motorola Q which is programmed for Tata, then its ok. Btw moto Q9c in US is good, it would be very nice if Rimweb gurus introduce them for Tata Indicom.

Try the Open Market Handsets by samsung or lg. They come in a bit cheaper and seems to be of a better make than the ones you procure from Tata Indicom shops. But you are not left with options when it comes to high end OMHs.

Ditto.

Opoen Market Handsets could be the best choice for "drshreenivaas". :)
