Arun 795 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Press Trust of India - January 05, 2005 Reliance Infocomm Ltd will soon start charging for services offered through its `R World', a web-based platform. "We will very soon charge for the `R World' services and the charges would be based on the content provided and operators," company president (Applications Solutions & Content Group) Mahesh Prasad told reporters here today. "The charges will be at par with those of the existing service providers and some of the services will be better than our competitors. The company is aiming at offering affordable rates for the masses," he said. `R World' offers over 120 different services including gaming. The platform serves over 12-15 billion pages in a year, he said. Meanwhile, Reliance Infocomm has tied up with internet portal Indiatimes.Com to provide Short Messaging Service
silverline 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 This is certainly not the kind of news any RIM subscriber would want to hear.... So sad, atleast those cricket score updates should be kept free !!! Cheers, Silverline.
tanveer 59 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 DAPO users can enjoy the cricket scores free on 1234. but in a lrger perspective it s a sad news for all of us. and the most alarming part is that the rates will be comparable to other operators.

dhayfule 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2005 Hi Folks, That would be worthless, since free R-World was an attraction to the customers, however customers arent allowed to make full use of WAP in RWorld like other Service Providers, I mean RWorld doesnt allow to download free ringtones and other stuff from wap sites like other service providers allow to. Niether do we have option to share ringtones and other stuff. Who would pay for inconviniences?!!! Bye Regards
