MOBILE FAN 42 Report post Posted October 20, 2010 I am new on BB. Recently I got BB8330. Along with it I got a CD. When I insert the CD, it shows two links : 1. Install Blackberry Desktop software, 2. Get the latest version from Web. When I select 1st option, it opens installshield wizard showing Blackberry Desktop Software 4.5. When I select 2nd option, it opens this page. There, the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Software is v6.0 and the lowest is v4.6 Now, I am confused. I have read on this forum that going on higher version, also upgrades the OS. I dont want to do that. Can you guys plz. tell me, whether I can go for the latest v6.0 of Blackberry Desktop Software or I should install from the CD which is V4.5. Please note that the phone is showing OS 4.2. It is a client to connect your BB device to computer and let you make Backups and load apps on your BB Device. OS and Desktop Manager are two different things. you can use the latest Desktop Manager without changing the OS of your device. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
