kkdeep 6 Report post Posted October 24, 2010 I need some help in selecting a scanner/Printer for my home use. My main use is digitizing documents. Printer(only documents, No photo) is needed to be used very occasionally like once a week or even less. I can let go of printer option if the standalone scanner works out cheaper. I don't need the option of copier but won't mind if it is there. Appreciate any suggestions.

kkdeep 6 Report post Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the reply. The Samsung Multi-in-one is good but is a bit pricy at 8.5k for my usage. How good is this one Canon PIXMA-MP287 The suggested retail price is4295/- and compared to LIDE 100 is only silghtly costlier and i am getting the printer function too. rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted October 24, 2010 Most of the Canon/HP and other brands also now a days come with a chip which identifies whether a new original cartridge in installed or a refilled one. Problems ranging from either showing empty cartridge or not allowing to print happen due to this. It is wise to check with the model selected whether this will be the case as one will end up spending huge amounts on costly original cartridges otherwise. Some software tools are available on the net to fix this issues but it can be messy sometimes and can void the warranty and damage the firmware.

kkdeep 6 Report post Posted October 24, 2010 Thanks for all the responses guys. I will checkout all the models suggested in this thread. Just one more question, Since my printer usage will not be frequent, Will the inkjet printer give any problems?
hiteshkkk1 327 Report post Posted October 25, 2010 Thanks for all the responses guys. I will checkout all the models suggested in this thread. Just one more question, Since my printer usage will not be frequent, Will the inkjet printer give any problems? If you print atleast 2-3 pages every 8-10 days, it wont give you any problem... For me, I use it to even photocopy so printing is there every 2-3 days. One more thing... You can check for epson inkjet mfp. Those are best compatible with CISS. I have my friends using them for years & just filling ink in the tanks. Just search CISS in ebay.in you will get supported models. Seller inkshop is really reliable n helpful & product quality is excellent.
