rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted October 25, 2010 Source: Techtree After conquering the cinema theatres, TV sets, computers and cameras, 3D seems to have broken another bastion with its entry into handsets. Budget mobile phone manufacturer Spice Mobile has released what it terms, India's first 3D phone christened View D. Listed officially as M-67 3D, the phone will feature a 2.4-inch auto-stereoscopic display, which is a fancy name for 3D displays that don't require stereoscopic goggles. Spice, however, doesn't mention the exact kind of auto-stereoscopic technology employed in the LCD screen, but almost all of them have limited viewing angles, which is not a problem for cell phones though. The phone is also dual SIM (GSM+GSM) capable. The 3D display is complemented by 3D enabled video player, image viewer, and a 3D capable user interface. Also bundled is a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, and memory that is expandable up to 16GB. Priced at Rs. 4,299, the handset will be sold through 50,000 retail outlets, including 750 Spice HotSpot stores. sougatadc 358 Report post Posted October 25, 2010 If only the UI is 3D, is it similar to Micromax X550 3D or Q5 3D? After all they are Chinese siblings.

Integrated with an auto-stereoscopic display, the handset allows you to view 3D videos with perfection and yes you DON'T REQUIRE SPECIAL GLASSES. Not just the videos, the cell phone is indeed entrenched with 3D Image Viewer and also the 3D User Interface…making the phone experience all the way new & enliven.Auto-Stereoscopic DisplayM-67 3D is bestowed with Auto-stereoscopic Display, which facilitate users to view three-dimensional images, enabling objects to appear more real & physical. The dedicated 3D shortcut key on the phone key lets users to switch amid 2D and 3D mode instantly. Further, the phone supports parallel version of 3D Image and Video format for that perfect viewing. They are promising for a 3d experience in watching videos and images. Auto Stereoscopic Display is different just from the UI. It's an emerging technology which many companies are adopting in Television Sets and Mobile Display Devices. However it will be interesting to know how Spice has implemented it here at such a price. Funny thing this news is all across the web and even The Inquirer has noticed it. Will be interesting to see when an actual user posts something.
