I had flashed my epic with CM10 (stable release) but could not get data connection. Had same issues on Carbon too. Flashed back to FC09 and had the data connection working again. Could not understand the problem. Reflashed CM10 but had the same issues. Is is because I did not flash any modems post the ROM?

Can someone help me with what all needs to be done to get to CM10 (with all the other stuff that needs to be flashed). I am new to this and almost got my phone to a state where I could not get it to boot except in download mode. Scared to do anything now.

Nothing to be scared of. Just Odin to stock. Before you flash CM10 read the XDA thread thoroughly.

I switched from stock 2.3 to cm 10.1 and now im unable to get the network any workaround?

power button not working.

when power on phone full functional.

Battery charging also ok.

is there any way to power on epic.without using power button.

or any repair help.

I know this is late reply, and you may already finished you work thru some jig or other methods...

but here is solution for you or some one with same issue

you need to be rooted....

then install terminal emulator with root rights...

and do folowing

# SU

# reboot download

you phone will power off and reboot in download mode...

Same you can use for recovery

#SU

#reboot recovery

visited manish market stall no 17 they told power button and yellow strip part need to be replaced. they do not have .

i order epic for part (1000/-)from ebay with sns. waiting for delivery.

but now phone showing "searching for service" no network. because i have transfer my reliance no to another phone using hcc card and activated using*228.

how do i get back my reliance no to epic 4g.?

My Epic 4G is running on GB 2.3.6. I have contacted a seller in ebay who is doing Software upgrade on payment and he ask for nv dump file which I didn't got . My vendor, Whom I purchased the handset is not available to contact

1. do I need nv dump to get evdo data after sf upgrade ?

2. also if do factory reset, will I be able to get evdo ?

Generally in either case nv dump is not needed. However there is always a risk on formatting and software up gradation that efs items may get erased.

So to be safe yes u should have the nv dump.

easy way is to make qnc from qpst

or select data specific nv items and read --save

"no network" issue solved.

actually it was my mistake while packing radio wire not connected.

now network is showing.

*228 - coonected to reliance network- saying Phone could not be activated. contact customer care.

now waiting for reliance ww people to transfer it on epic 4g.

FYI just want to share NV dump loading i did on my ubuntu 13.04 linux host laptop with win7pro guest.( i have remove macfee antivirus)

"cdma workshop or dfs or qpst " does not have alternative on linux.

Hi Friends,

Need help on Epic Touch 4G - Overheating problem. Battery drains very fast. In fact after buying somewhere in April, I had to replace the battery in June/July 2013. Got original battery from a rimweb member , but issue is still same.

it gets very hot while making a call of ~ 10 minutes or so, or while using data. Charging is almost daily. Eventhough my usage is very very mild, less than 10 calls / day lasting 2-3 minutes each & data for 1/2 hr with wifi hotspot.

Is this a common problem for ET4G ?

I am on Ginerbread 2.3.6, din't update for ICS, as it lacks wifi hotspot feature, which I regularly use.

This is not a common issue ,

something wrong with you phone, get it checked for hardware issue,

also before that, you can try installing stock rom / radio / kernel
