Lets Take a small break from the hyped 3G services by operators and look into news of other telecom operators. Vodafone is now making some news by launching a first of its kind Balance Transfer!

Now you can send money (aka Currency in your Mobile) to your friends in no time!! Thanks to USSD, Everything is Made too simple.

All you need to Remember is a simple Format. Just Dial *131*Amount*FriendMobileNumber# to initiate a money transfer! And your existing balance will be instantly debited and sent to your friend! Suppose if you want to send 10 Rupees to your friend’s Number 9999999999 from your existing balance, all you need to do is dial *131*10*999999999# and wait for a confirmation pop up! Easy Isn’t it?

Things you want to remember before initiating a Transaction

• Make Sure you enter the Valid 10 digit Mobile Number of your Friend (Cross Check Twice)
  
• Enter any Amount between from 5Rs(lower limit) and 30Rs (upper limit)
  
• You are allowed to transfer money to the same number only once in a day.
  
• Play safe with *131*Amount*FriendMobileNumber# , Your crazy Friend could grab your Phone and send all your money to his Number

They are not the only ones to offer this service - Tata Docomo BuddyNet members can transfer Balance by typing

"BT <Space>Target Mobile Number <Space>

Amount" and sending it to 54321

To reverse the Amount a Member needs to type

" RBT<Space>Transaction ID" and send it to

54321

SMS to 54321 for Balance Transfer will be

charged at Re.1 and for reversal will be Toll Free.

Conditions:

The sender’s account balance for "Balance

Transfer" has to be Transfer Amount + Rs.1 at

the time of transfer. If balance is not sufficient the

transfer will be declined. However, the SMS will

be charged.

In case of Reversals the amount reversed will be

dependent on the balance available with the

recipient.

The system will recognize "BT" or "bt" or "Bt"

For Example to Transfer Rs.25 Talk-time from

9030012345 to 9030099999 . The sender

types "BT 9030099999 25" and SMS to 54321

Idea's balance transfer service is available in JK, Punjab, Mah.. What about others? Is it a circle specific service?
