rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted April 30, 2011 MNP : Over 64 Lakh Mobile Subscribers Switch To Other Operators Source:Telecomtalk The Number of Unhappy Mobile Service users crossed 64 lakh Nationwide by end of 31st March 2011. Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka and Rajasthan telecom circles has the Highest Number of Mobile service subscribers willing to change their current operators through Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Service. As per the data reported by the service providers, by the end of March 2011 about 64.23 lakh subscribers have submitted their requests to different service providers for porting their mobile number. Out of these requests around 6.17 lakh mobile subscribers in Gujarat circle switch to other operator while 5.49 lakh in Rajasthan, 5.29 lakh in Karnataka, 4.40 lakh in Maharashtra & Goa and 4.33 lakh pertains to Haryana wherein MNP was implemented from 25th Nov. 2010. In rest of the country, in MNP Zone-I (Northern & Western India) maximum number of requests have been received in Gujarat (6.17 lakh) followed by Rajasthan (5.49 lakh) whereas in MNP Zone-II (Southern & Eastern India) maximum number of requests have been received in Karnataka ( 5.29 lakh) followed by Tamil Nadu Service area(4.74 lakh). drabhayshah76 7 Report post Posted April 30, 2011 Hello friends, If Reliance CDMA has lost so much customers to other operators, its good for people still holding on to RCDMA because more port outs relieve the network from congestion to a considerable extent. This might result in much fewer call drops too. But again all provided if RCDMA is properly managed by our Anilbhai. Regards, Dr.Abhay Shah. Rcom has widest and perhaps best network, backed by dumbest, zero empowered customer care. Handset quality is another big issue in CDMA. In airtel I have seen them resolvng billing problem in a day and CC executive will revert all charges and also will offer 50 buck as bonus with apology. I have not visites airtel hub in last 2.5 yeears. Reliancei s just opposit, for every small reason they want customer to go to their store. Billing issue can never ever get resolved on phone for sure. Consumer will be looser in case rcdma looses customer base. Airtel is Chor. U cant deactivate any VAS in Airtel. shrik 9 Report post Posted May 15, 2011 Top MNP loser RCom OK with loss; to focus on value, not nos MUMBAI: If the numbers are anything to go by, the much-touted mobile number portability (MNP), that got kicked in from January 20, has not made much of a dent in the fortunes of most telecom companies, as only about 4 million out of 771 million users have dumped their operators in the first five months. While Vodafone , Bharti and Idea gained significantly during this customer-choice era, Reliance Communications (RCom) bore the brunt of the switch. But the Anil Ambani Group telco claims it is not keen on adding mere numbers, but adding high value customers. "It is true - initially we lost big time. And even now, the net numbers are in the red. But we are happy with that. Most of the numbers we lost (port-outs) are small value customers, while our gains (port-ins) are mostly high value (high Arpu or average revenue per user)," Anurag Prashar, RCom President (Corporate & Wireless Customer Service), told PTI. "Also, our MNP strategy is to get corporate customers and not small changes, which our rivals are focusing on. And we have been fairly successful in this too." In April, RCom has evened out the port-in and port-out numbers, Prashar claims. "So far, we have ported in a good 10,000 corporate customers." As per GSM body Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) data, as of April 28, RCom is the biggest MNP loser with a combined net loss of 10,70,747 users, out of which its newly launched GSM operations took the worst hit with 7,45,877 port-outs, while its port-ins stood at a low 1,30,167. amitnsonu 72 Report post Posted May 16, 2011 reliance guys are now expreesing the feeling which we called "JHENP MITANA" in hindi. how all low arpu customers can go out of reliance.. are they having some platform and plan the port out.... i as a reliance customer and high arpu but I port out from relaince because of utra poor network coverage... utra poor CC (they didnt listen to me even after 4 months continue compalints regarding network). Do you want them to be behaving like HariChandra's distant relative and say the following TRUTHs to PRESS people???? "Sir, We have lost so many customers because of our:-01. Very cr@ppy GSM network 02. Costly CDMA data plans 03. Useless CC and that too NOT FREE 04. We don't take any complaint seriously 05. We DONT launch EV-DO in all 1x towers and so NO better EV-DO also 06. We have a target to activate some random packs to some N number of customers PER DAY 07. We cheat whenever we gets bored 08. We launch cheap tariffs with great Ads and remove those benefits after few months without informing anyone 09. We mostly make fake activations 10. We ask an arm or leg of customer for a cr@ppy n/w locked CDMA phone 11. Our Nodal-officers are useless-thick_skinned-lazy-pigs 12. When customer un-sub a pack, we will do it and STILL continuously deduct balance for that service (happened to me) 13. We will ask customer to goto web-world for even a simple task 14. We attach our crazy-annoying-worthless 3G CRBT to all our GSM customer in our 3G circle without informing them 15. We will promote our cr@ppy GSM network only and neglect the good old CDMA... and for these reasons only, we have lost sooo many higher ARPU users and we gained some so-so scape-goat type port-in new users..." Rs.5130 crore), in an all cash transaction, on a cash and debt-free basis. Telcordia India‘s joint venture with Gurgaon based Deepak Talwar Consultants, MNP Interconnection Telecom Solutions India Pvt Ltd (MITS), manages India’s Mobile Number Portability solutions in South and East of India for 11 circles: Kolkata, Karnataka, West Bengal, North East, Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Kerela, Assam, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. In 2009, Telcordia picked up to pick up upto 74% foreign investment in the mobile number portability venture, and allowed a foreign investment of Rs. 45 crore. MNP Interconnection Telecom Solutions India has a 5 year mandate, as per the license. Telcordia has also been operational in the Indian market since 2006, and lists Tata Teleservices, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications, Aircel and India’s Department of Telecom as its clients. Following the acquisition, around 2,600 Telcordia employees will join Ericsson. The deal is expected to close by Q4 2011 and will come into full effect from Q1 2012.
