OS vs OS (Mobile)

Recommended Posts

Win Mo vs Android vs BB vs any other etc etc

Every one talking best PC OS / antivirus / etc etc

why not to talk about few OS we have in our hands.

I am not putting any poll,

this will be a discussion of features that one OS can do and other cant. (only due to software)

Point out the things & limitation

So lets start .. . . . . .

P.S = i am starting pointing as want to give chance to others

I was very much satisfied with BB OS

though it does have options like android & win MOb or others

but they are handy to use, 4.5 was much better & faster than the latest Built

I'm using nokia 5800 xpress music with latest symbian firmware 52.0.007. And I like it very much, but still there is some bugs, even everybody is expecting new firmware for 5800. I haven't any Android phone yet, but going to try with Samsung, and latest symbian^3 with Nokia C7.

I would give point to all os i haved used from the scale of 1 to 5 i.e 1 being worst and 5 being the best

Symbian = 1 (it was the best os some years ago on handsets like nokia 6600,6260 but now whole game has changed and no evolution from symbian)

Android = 4-Good (Great OS but control of Google over it reminds me of microsoft dominance)

Webos = 3-Not good nor bad(though i find same functionality as Android but there are very few apps)

Blackberry = 3 (Good,Solid but before BB 6.0 was no comparision to Android or Apple)

In love with Windows since 2003 SE days and still using 6.5.

Had to use Symbian (because I used Nokia). Wanted to use Android on a new handset, but Tata is stopping me to switch over.

Been on the scene for ages now ... worked on Brew and J2ME, still have a Blackberry, a nokia e72, and a droid... used palm on the kyocera a zillion years back and for a day used a palm pre too ... As part of my job profile (i'm, responsible in part for driving iphone sales .. so I've played extensively on iOS as well). Still have a HTC PPC6800, a 6700 and a HTC P3300gsm.

Somehow my vote lands strongly on the droid, the fluidity, the flexiblity and the options that it provides (especially at a root level) supercedes the freedom provided from any other OS (Mobile OS)

think of something ... search for it in the market and the chances are that you'll find it.

IOS has been in the market for over 5 years... Android just about a year and a half .. and in the short span has managed to eat into the competition with a 14% growth in its market share comared to the last quarter ... which speaks volumes about it being adopted as the OS of choice :)

Moreover considering its pricing model - its FREE ! So more and more vendors are hoping the bandwagon as it saves Royalty and Licensing fees :)

following the cloud computing model allows central storage of data - which in the long run means that you can jump devices without bothering about transferring contacts etc :)

I have used about 10 Symbian device in all right from Nokia 1100 to E63 - N95 - 5600 - N97. It suites my needs well with stable platform but of late it started feeling obsolete. Lot of .sis and .sisx apps available is definitely a plus. Still using them for my Gsm connection.

Have used an O2 XDA II mini and a Hp Ipaq 6515 :P they are now collector's prized possession and ran on old Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 which you wouldnt want me to rate here! :Equivocado:

Not a fan of Java and .jar files <_<

And havent impressed anyone for my first Android device. Have used my friend's Galaxy and the OS felt good.
