Rajanbhai

Please tell me your experience of Palm Pixi. I hope you still use this instrument. I am a new entrant to CDMA. So far I am using Samsung muzik as my secondary phone, the primary being Nokia E63. I have applied for MNP to shift my primary number to Rel CDMA. I have never tried any imported handset before and Palm Pixi has caught my attention. Will be grateful if you share your experience about the set, its present cost and how to get it. Thanks in advance.

GSM 3G/CDMA EVDO Phones Below Rs 10,000

GSM 3G is here and CDMA EVDO was already in place. Next thing you want is an affordable 3G/EVDO Phone. I feel not everyone is looking for buying those 20-25K phones, neither can most people afford it. So thought of compiling this list.

For this roundup, my criteria was following,

-Price Below Rs 10,000

-Real 3G Phone. GSM Phones advertising 3G but having 384kbps speed is excluded.

-For CDMA, 1x speed phones are excluded.

-Also imported CDMA phones excluded as Official EVDO on them still not possible. (I know some members using but still it's not available for public at large easily, Also won't fit into Rs 10,000)

With this criteria, my search yielded following choices for 3G/EVDO Phones below Rs 10,000. All Prices are Online.

Happy And Economical Buying....Enjoy....

Please post phones missed out fulfilling the above criteria and i will update. Thanks.

@Abhijit

Yes i am still using PIXI.

This is the best phone to have if you are entering imported handset world...Touch and QWERT Keyboard Combo...And Don't Won't to spend a Fortune..

Pluses

-Very Pocket Friendly Size, Slim, Easy Grip, Unique Back Cover

-Touchscreen Response Very Good...Very Fast Interface...Does Not lag at all..

-Screen Size is just perfect..Not too small..Not too big

-Running Multiple apps is a snap...Card Interface.

-Very Good Built in QWERT Keyboard (Particularly for this small size)

-Very Good Browser with touch, pinch, zoom gestures

-Synergy Feature for Contacts, Email

-SMS in conversation format..So you have a track of communication with anyone at single place without searching for in hundreds of SMS

-8 GB Built in Storage...Enough for most use.

-Call Quality is very good

-Good Battery Life (Not Exceptional)

Minuses

-Palm App Store does not work in India right out of the box..Though people have been successful doing it..needs some effort

That's a short summary of what i can put together immediately..

Cost is pocket friendly-About 10-11K For A New One...Anything Between 8 to 9K for a used one in Very Good Condition.

How to Get it...hmmm...I am thinking for going in for another handset..Not sure though..Will Decide in few days..

pm me if you need any further info :)

@Rajan,

I think LG Cookie Glide GT350i @ Rs 6,899 is not a 3G mobile.

The GT350i has wi-fi and the GT350 does not have wi-fi also. Both models do not have 3G at all.

And yes, the LG GT350i is available in Chennai for Rs 6000 and the LG GT350 is at Rs 5500. Both are available at Univercell.

Rajan bhai of all CDMA phones listed, both of above mentioned phones are carrier-locked to MTS so it wont be quite an option for Reliance and Tata users.
