Any TATA Docomo users from Mumbai....How is the GPRS Speed...Say Compared to Airtel and Vodafone...Thanks.

Rajan Bhai, me and my son use TATA Docomo also apart from Vodafone. If you are used to Vodafone GPRS then you will hardly like Docomo Gprs speed in Mumbai.

Last year when Docomo was launched, at that time the Gprs speeds were really good, but now a days its not that good. If you have to check mails etc., then its okay otherwise for downloading other stuffs or login to forums etc. its not good at all.

I tested both Vodafone and Docomo altogether, by downloading the same file at the same time on both networks. Example, a 5 MB file on Vodafone Edge Network downloads in approx. 3 minutes, but the same file took more then 15 minutes on Docomo. :Decepcionado:

In Mumbai, Vodafone's GPRS is the best. From the last couple of months I'm moderating the forum in daytime also from my Edge Enabled Nokia E63 with robust speeds. :)

So, if you want speed then Vodafone could be the best option dear Rajan Brother. :)

Thanks Kamalbhai for detailed evaluation... +1

Thinking of shifting my mostly unused Airtel Postpaid to Tata Docomo Prepaid....Their MNP Offers are good.. :)

Moreover i like their entire approach in Website, Transparency, Customer Care...

Having serious issues with Docomo EDGE here too. Sad to hear that its similar in Bombay. Yesterday I checked the speed and it was like 5 kbps!! Thats next to unusable. I'v seen the speed go upto 150 kbps or so max, sometimes in the past. But its really not at all reliable. Unless they do something about it very soon, I may be forced to make use of MNP, lol.

U can get take a 2G plan (like 6gb for 98), select network band of 3g.

Here u will get 120kbps speed almost always. Enough to listen high quality aac stream songs etc/ browse. to me it is enough.

I will suggest to discuss every thing here and let telco learn their lessons, secure their networks and make every thing safer. Loopholes must be plugged as they are unsafe. Companies are so foolish if one approach and expalin directly they will ignore.
