kkdeep 6 Report post Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) i don't know how these guys call these plans as broadband plans with 256kbps speed. As per TRAI minimum should be 512 kbps. Edited March 13, 2011 by kkdeep
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted March 13, 2011 i don't know how these guys call these plans as broadband plans with 256kbps speed. As per TRAI minimum should be 512 kbps. As far as i know that is just a TRAI "recommendation" so far, not yet a regulation / rule or anything of that sort.
rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted March 13, 2011 Presuming it's an actual TRAI regulation.... Even then this plans are with 2Mbps Speed till the bill cap is reached...And 256Kbps only thereafter... Many other isp's are even marketing straight 256kbps plans as broadband....Compared to that this are True Broadband Plans actually...

kesav 127 Report post Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) According to TRAI, BB means minimum 256 Kbps always-on Edited March 13, 2011 by kesav
kkdeep 6 Report post Posted March 14, 2011 The definition has been revised upwards to 512 kbps effective Jan 1, 2011. See TechBuzz and Broadband Forum
kesav 127 Report post Posted March 14, 2011 Dear friend, it's just a recommendation by TRAI to DoT and not a direction to service providers. But I don't understand why TRAI can't give directions to service providers on the new definition of broadband? :confuse: It's a service regulation and TRAI has its exclusive power in this matter to give directions without any nod from DoT. kkdeep 6 Report post Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks for clarification. Then this upwards revision means nothing . Now I know why people call TRAI toothless tiger
