sougatadc 358 Report post Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) Nokia is set to launch its all-in-one smartphone Nokia E7 in the Indian market. The company has commenced pre-booking for E7 smartphone. It will be available for Rs.35,000. It has large 4 inch screen with a 4 line QWERTY keypad. It offers multimedia performance and a host of productivity applications including live stock prices, 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, secondary VGA camera for video calls, able to record video in 720p and is powered by Symbian^3 OS. But isn't it too costly vis-a-vis features? IMO this price would suffice a bit if it was on Windows 7. KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) A dozen reasons WHY it is better to go for EVEN N8 at Rs23k than E7… 01) With SWYPE (coming to S^3) real KB is NOT a must (also portrait qwerty touch KB also coming this month).. 02) N8 got QuickOffice EDIT in its latest sw update 03) Has 16GB InternalStorage + USB_OTG + MicroSD_Slot (No SD slot in E7) 04) N8’s AF camera is best for Business apps like “BusinessCard reader”, “Barcode reader” than the Camera/Joke in E7 05) E7 has big 4″ screen, but for the (640x360) LOW resolution (comparing Android/iPhone) N8’s 3.5″ is GOOD enough for that resolution 06) N8 also has AMOLED screen like E7 (Though E7 has CBD, still N8 display is very good even in direct-sunlight) 07) Both N8 and E7 has 1200mAh BL-4D battery, but due to small screen, N8 has better battery life.. 08) N8 smaller/lighter/slimmer than E7 09) N8 MUCH MUCH cheaper than E7 10) Atleast we can replace battery in N8 ourself using StarScrewDriver (and NOT that much simple in E7 case) 11) N8 has xenon flash for great indoor and low-light photography 12) CameraGlass and LoudSpeaker are NOT recessed in E7 resulting in still bad cam performance and low volume of speaker when lying on flat surface... Apart from the differences above, rest of all E7 advantages are ALSO present in N8 like Penta_Band_3G, HDMI_Mini with necessary accessory, LifeTime_FREE_Navigation, Aluminium_UniBody, RAM/Processor/OS, Accelerometer/Compass/Proximity_Sensors, GorillaGlassDisplay, active_noise_cancellation via second mic, 720p video recording, etc… So why go for COSTLY one??? So friends who (if anyone here) wants to buy E7, please go for N8 instead... Edited March 13, 2011 by KanagaDeepan
sougatadc 358 Report post Posted March 14, 2011 Good comparison. I do realize, if Swype is present, physical keyboard is not at all necessary. It makes the handset much sleeker and lighter. I'm using it on my Fascinate and is in love with it.
