raccoon 53 Report post Posted March 31, 2011 This (population) is one of the root problems... but no one even wants to mention or acknowledge it anymore. We are growing like bacteria and cancer cells. How long will the Earth support such a gargantuan human population? It is encouraging to note that out of total of 217,700,941 literates added during the decade, female 110,069,001 outnumber male 107,631,940. Such statements are really amusing. What is so encouraging about this? Do they mean to say its better to have more illiterate males than females? Can think of innumerable ramifications for this. But one of the most imp. points to note is that the larger the illiterate/disadvantaged/unemployed male population, the more the instability in society.
