Your present RUIM is compatible with OMH handsets and will work fine - in the sense you will be able to use the basic call and texting functions.

OMH (Open Market Handset) card, which will cost you Rs.100, is for provisioning Data setting like EVDO and operator content on your phone. If do not intent to make use of data, go ahead with the present one!

:)

Friend, If you can add Rs.800 to your current budget can buy LG 6300 - a good MP3 handset with 2.1 sound output and external memory card. Please see this link

I am using Mpower Muzik 219 from last 4 months, its working fine. Sound quality is great. Phone does not have any issues/problems. Its supports external memory card upto 2GB only and you can't play music in background and it has VGA camera only. 2nd, your UIM (means CDMA SIM) will work with any OMH. I am using TATA Indicomm on my Samsung.
