As per my recent knowledge (source : mail received by my friend who owes TATA Gallery) Blackberry as now appointed Brightpoint India as their National distributors for CDMA phones which were earlier sold thru TATA & Reliance. Due to this arrangement, availability has improved & prices have also become competitive. But, if you consider data plans offered by TATA, getting BIS for 399/- with 10gb usage makes sense. Other options is to migrate to GSM n use android wit 98Rs. packs but I dont wish to use GSM as I am highly satisfied with TATA's CDMA network quality. My questions is, is there any workaround of getting data on NON - Blackberry handsets like any android (samsung pop) or even imported Palm Pixi or any other at reasonable rates (say max 400/- per month) for good amount of usage around 5-10gb?? If no option is available, I would like to settle down for 8530 with 399/- BIS plan. Also, one more question is, BIS offered by TATA as well as Reliance @ 399/- is applicable even for EVDO?? or there is any extra rent for EVDO BIS?? PS. If anyone needs Bright point dealer's numbers for Pune as well as Mumbai, I can provide the same. I had talked to mumbai guy & for 8530 he gave me DP of Rs.13761/-. hiteshkkk1 327 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 Hello friends once again... Just yesterday activated my TATA number on BB8530. Got it from local pune store for 13700/-. Activation Process:- 1. My friend at TATA Jalgaon sent mail to concerned officer with my BB Pin / MEID & Plan i.e. Gold 399 (unlimited mails & 10gb browsing free. Tethered usage @ 0.50/mb) 2. Since my friend was out of town, he gave me number of concerned office. That person raised necessary SR & gave me MIN no. & SPC & my number was activated in no time. 3. Recd sms confirming my BIS was activated. Also recd SMS that HSIA (EVDO) was activated but cud not check as we dont have evdo coverage. 4. Configured all things & now UP with BIS / BBM. Initial feel of handset is good. No issues as such. Only thing, when my no., was not activated & I was using WIFI for browsing, handset was restarting by itself. Now no such problem. Transferred all my contacts thru Google Sync & works fine. Now I have few questions.. 1. As per my plan, 10gb browsing is free. Tethered browsing is charged @ 0.5/mb. So, if I use apps such as NGPAY / Opera mini / Google Sync / Blackberry Apps / Dropbox, etc. will it be considered as free or chargeable?? 2. I want to see all my gmail labels but cant find them.
