RuiD 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Dear All, On calling up customer support a total of twelve times, I was made to believe that Reliance phones dont work with Linux - (this from their technical experts). Hmmm... Obviously incorrect. I spent about three days trying to get information from the net on how it could be possible as even after being able to dial, i was continuously getting the message "Data Service Unavailable" on the handset. The trick was to just add an INIT string in the /etc/wvdial.conf file that said INIT2 = at+crm=1 and then that was that (besides the regular lines ofcourse, which I am sure you all know by know. If anyone wants further details, send me a mail on ruid@nephrongroup.com Always good to share the information. obviously the above line fits into the DIALER section of the wvdial.conf but thought i'd still point it out. Also if anyone can tell me how to configure it in KDE so I dont have to use the terminal to dial everytime I would b grateful
linuxguy 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 thats some good news! As for the kde part, its as simple as making a new connection. Configure the connection as normally you would and set the device appropriately (/dev/<whatever>). Also, dont forget to add that initialization string.
