Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Everyone must have known the Fords small segment car - Ford Figo. its been 1 year since its in market. We booked a car, had several issues with delivery. like the dealer ship agreed to register the car, but hide papers and gave delivery without registration... like that lots of small small issues with dealer ship.. About the car it was no less... The car we got was faulty in its engine and secondly with its circuit... lots of issues and unpleasant experiences... Ok skipping that, coming to the present situation You might have seen the ford figo advertisement hyping the bluetooth connectivity. It has option to connect your phone via bluetooth. Its awesome but buggy. Everytime you end a call, the player starts playing music (no matter previously you were listening to music or not ). The irritating part is, even if someone gives you a miss call, my player starts playing music. Sometimes if i stop my car while talking on phone, and lock car and go, the player starts playing music inside shed. I would know only when am back or security giving me an alert that I have forgot to turn of music pathetic. I complained this to dealers, they said this is how it functions in all cars they have seen. Then again raised a complaint with Ford customer care, they never responded. I was thinking about leaving the idea about using the bluetooth option at all. Finally before giving up, i sent an email to ford india official who had helped us with our previous issues. He passed on the query and someone called up. He said they havent received much complaints from customers for this bug, still they will try to resolve this bug within 4 months or so.. For me, i have a lot of guys around my network, who has the same issue within Ford figo music player. Are there any figo owners in forum who has this issue with their player ? varunpatel 31 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Ashokbhai, I have also been using the Ford Figo Titanium Tdci since last July and have almost clocked 15K Kms. The issue regarding bluetooth which you have mentioned.i.e, the Music Player turning On on disconnection of the call is true among all the Figo's.I think its a bug which the team failed to rectify in the newer models too. Also,Phonebook sync issues prevail if u use a Large phonebook arnd 1000 contacts. In Mine,it syncs only upto 673 contacts and stops,Dont know why?If u have tried connecting more then four or five phones in the past,If u try connecting a new phone,It would say that list is full which might mean we have to get it cleared or what Which I havent been able to figure out yet. Barring the above issues(Majorly the Bluetooth connectivity),everything has been working great on the figo without any issues.I have'nt faced any major issues with the Engine nor any circuitry and its been working great.I am greatly satisfied with the purchase and would recommend people to go for it.Mine also gives a great mileage of 20 to 22 Kms/Litre(Mind,mine is the diesel) with a mix of 50-50 City Highway Driving with AC ON. Regarding Dealership,I bought it in Ahmedabad & there is only One dealer here.I would'nt say that Service & Customer Care is Good or Great. But as I have not faced any issues,Did not have to deal majorly with the dealership. There is no doubt that the Dealerships need to improve a lot compared to Ford's Competitors. Hope, the problems with your car gets rectified soon. Please provide me the mail address of the Ford India official.I would aslo send him a complain by mail. Thanks for your views. Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 nice to see your reply varun :-), yes even am on diesel titanium.. my car displayed issues within 5 mts of showroom on delivery date... the steering fluid burst ? thats the worst experience that anyone could get on a new car.. that explains that they havent checked properly before delivery. this can be an issue with dealership or maybe the build quality of the company manufacturing unit. I have had so many initial unpleasant situations with dealers as well as the car built quality, so much that am tired deciding Ford. Again the bug of music player adds to it. The main reason why i choose Figo from Polo is the player connectivity in built in it. And that itself turned out to be soo buggy... @ chitshare i know about team-bhp. I will surely post it there, infact i have read a lot of online members posting same bug. As per what they have told me, the bug resolution is already started. The timeframe given is around 4 months for the new player to be released (as promised) and after which all can have the bug fixed on their players.
raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Sorry to hear about your experiences. Steering fluid burst? Where did it "burst" from? Really surprising that something like that can happen on a new car. It could be that the part where it burst from was defective or poor quality or the dealer has replaced stuff and given you spurious parts. If it was defective, I doubt if you can blame the dealership, as I don't think its feasible for the dealership to go into such details in the pre-delivery inspection. New car breaking down is also VERY surprising. Have you not gone into why it happened? And since you say you are having electrical issues, hope its not something that will lead to something like a short-circuit.... and a possible fire. Beware! Hope you get your issues sorted out. Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 @reccoon I blamed dealership for the reason, they dint even drive the car for 1 meters as predelivery inspection. if they did drive and if they did notice the issue, they dint care to check why steering was tight. my steering was tight right from 5 meters from showroom(i noticed then). 5mtrs is too short a travel. The issue cause can be because of poor quality manufacturing or some related things BUT the issue that I as a customer had to face it, can be because of the poor pre-inspection done before delivering the vehicle
raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Not at all trying to justify any legit shortcomings from the dealer, but I'm not sure if they should be driving the car as part of the pre-delivery inspection. Personally, I'd not be comfy if they did that... at least not without my supervision. So as per Ford's policy they may not be supposed to drive it outside the showroom premises. Just imagine what unscrupulous mechanics will do with new cars. Needs no elaboration. A car with so many issues that you have described should never have left the company. Seems Ford has goofed up big time somewhere. IMHO, if you have "sufficient" issues, you should demand a replacement and fight for it... if required in a Consumer Forum. It will of course involve time, effort and some expense on your part. But here's your chance to get even with them.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 @racoon I dint mean they should drive outsite showroom, even inside showroom they drive many times from workshop to front and vice versa. even without driving they should have checked for steering fluid leaks. this was not something that happened bcz of my driving, within 5 mtrs an issue means it was already there before car was given to me. and ya i did demand a replacement, fought for it, got a replacement after a long long struggle, a new car infact, and funny part is even the replacement car was faulty... it was a big time mess... raccoon 53 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Gosh dude... seems Ford has given you a hard time. Replacement car faulty too?
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 yes boss... replacement car was infact despatched directly from factory to my location, that was faulty too... isnt this enough for a new customer to go crazy ?
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 I was about the buy Figo and even had sent the advance cheque to them but seeing several small such issues with their dealership here in Meerut, I cancelled and took an i10 instead and am mighty happy with the experience and saved a cool 1L that I was about to splunder... city02 63 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 i've bought 2 new cars in 9 years but in both cases i asked the dealer to deliver it home which was a 10-20 km 'test drive' since i have a driver, that's not a big deal as i only drive on weekends when he is on leave honda & toyota did not have any issue with home delivery since i did not want to waste time at the showroom the inspection [visual only] was done at home and then they had me sign some forms you should also copy and paste into mouthshut.com since others can rate your review also and benefit i was upset that my toyota arrived on reserve fuel since the dealer only puts 5-10 liters regardless of distance which is very cheap and ruins the new customer experience of a global brand but i must be one of the lucky ones compared to your problems! @racoon I dint mean they should drive outsite showroom, even inside showroom they drive many times from workshop to front and vice versa. even without driving they should have checked for steering fluid leaks. this was not something that happened bcz of my driving, within 5 mtrs an issue means it was already there before car was given to me. and ya i did demand a replacement, fought for it, got a replacement after a long long struggle, a new car infact, and funny part is even the replacement car was faulty... it was a big time mess... if you have a photo of your car then send an email to helpline@autocarindia.com with all the relevant details and they might decide to follow up directly with ford if that does not work, there must be similar emails for all major car mags... Saiesh 12 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 I own a ford figo (Diesel) and swift (Petrol), prior to that i had all maruti vehicle, ever since i have purchased the car i am not happy with it, the engine makes lot of noise it looks like an genset has been started, surprising to see such a product from ford, about mileage company ppl claimed the mileage to be 22KMPL but i am getting only 16Kmpl, have driven vehicle 14000Km, no improvements, with 4 months injectors were replaced there was hell lot of noise from engine. Even Swift diesel doesnot make such noise as compared to figo. Figo is horrible. I still Feel Maruti is Maruti, I love my swift which has done 85000kms, and the feel that i get driving it is still the same. May be i am comparing wrong cars, if any body is planning to buy a new car go for swift, its the best. you wont regret for this decision.
