Recharge your RIM prepaid with 2 key strokes

Recommended Posts

Here is a new way to recharge the prepaid connection on a Nokia 2280. You have 20 prepaid cards and since one would want to have the maximum validity, we tend to recharge only when are down to the last rupee. Here's a method to store the store the PIN in the phone itself and recharge with minimum fuss:

Store PIN in the phone:

Goto Menu->Settings->Call Settings->Calling Card

You will be prompted for the security code (12345 is the default)

Select "Card A" ->Edit->Dialling Sequence

Select "Access No+card no +phone no"

In the "Access Number" enter *340 ( this is the reliance no to call for recharging)

In the "Card Number" enter your recharge PIN

Come back to the "Card A" menu and press "Select"

When you actually need to recharge:

Press #

Press AND HOLD the "Call" key until "Card call..." is displayed and then start listening

When the young lady at the other end starts her blah blah press (dont hold) the OK key

Thats all :)

Since the 2280 supports 4 calling cards, one could store three more PINs (hey..we have 20 of them :) at calling cards B, C and D. Just remember to change to the correct calling cards when you need it. Since the phone security code is needed, I guess it is pretty safe to store PINs here. In this way, if we keep atleast one PIN in any of these "calling cards", we would never go out of charge on a prepaid!

Cheers,

Anoop

The thing that Anoop mentioned was for ppl who do not want to carry their recharge coupons along with them all the time coz they might be out of station on some imp work and they cud run out of Balance, At tht time, such a stored method of recharging always helps!

Exactly.

And remember to do it before your balance drops down to below Rs.20....They seem to have some other prompts too when balance goes down below this.
