I expect Motorola giving LAME excuses for NOT updating OG Razr, RazrMAXX, Bionic, Droid4 to JB in 2013, just like they did for ICS update of Photon and Atrix...

BTW Atrix2 was missing already in this list...

Any news about the official release of ICS (or JB even better) for the Incredible2. Also, will it install on top of a Revolutionary / AlphaRevX S-off?

^^^

Official ICS for Chinese ROM is already available since May.

ICS for Verizion -- leaks are available, no idea about Official OTA

these should not flash over Revolutionary S-OFF.

Some reliable unofficial source has claimed that EVO 3D won't get JB. His twitter account is @Football4PDA and he is well known HTC developer.

Yes, football is a superguy of RUUs, but still I would say its likely to get JB because all HTC devices having 768/1 GB RAM and 1.2+ GHZ processors are entitled to get updates shortly.

Verizon Pulls A Miracle Out Of Its Hat, Will Release ICS For The HTC Thunderbolt

Update: The OTA is rolling out now. Go get it!

We didn't think it was possible. We thought it was abandoned, left on the side of the road where no one would ever find it. Yet here, through the fog, a light comes shining through: Verizon is actually releasing Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Thunderbolt.

Micromax A110 Canvas 2 To Get Jelly Bean Update Next Week

Android version updates trickle down at a glacial pace from OEMs to end users, and Micromax in particular has been on the receiving end of customers' ire. There's even a joke about it: "Micromax doesn’t release updates, it releases a new phone." But it seems Micromax is listening to what users want: we have official word from the company that an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the A110 Canvas 2 is on the way and will be available to users soon.

“Yes, the Canvas 2 is getting a Jelly Bean update and it will hit the market by late next week,” Andre Augustine, part of the company’s media & corporate communication team for India & SAARC Region, told tech2.

We also asked the company about the status of the Android 4.2 update for the A116 Canvas HD, one of the most popular Micromax handsets till date. We were informed that the Canvas HD will surely be updated to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but no particular date or timeline was mentioned.

However, users will not be getting the update in the traditional over-the-air method. Augustine added, “This will not be an OTA update. Users will have to go to Micromax-authorised service centres to get the update. Currently, we are conducting tests (on the Jelly Bean ROM) and will be releasing the update by early next week latest.”

Going to a Micromax service centre is quite a roundabout way to get the latest software, but we understand if some users want to restrict their data consumption or are apprehensive about fiddling around with the settings. In any case, the company has a handy service centre locator tool on their website to help lost souls. Once at the service centre, it should not take long for the update to be installed. We were told the process should take around a couple of hours or even less, depending on the service centre and the waiting queue.

Going to service centre for Android OS update  ??? Welcome to 1998, dear Micromax :bash: ..

Further we have to explain those people in service centre (who have been dealing with rebranded Chinese phones ONLY for many years) about Android, JB, ICS, etc... The RCom CC who shed those golden words :ranting: "CDMA tech is not capable of data usage, only GSM can" is unnecessarily coming to my mind now...

We have to wait and see how this setup works...

^^^ it is more of a cost saving.. IMO they do not need high capacity servers with fast internet to handle the traffic. By sending customers to service centre, they will also know how they perform and will get feedback free of cost. users also know that they have well trained service centres. smart move...
