nitink 279 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 ok, googling says u can do that only with a rooted phone. this link explains 1 trick rooting http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-root-android-devices-with-universal-androot-app/ it shows as working for my phone model as well but I am little scared. any repercussions of rooting ? can we unroot it back incase of any warranty issues ? tarun_kabra 204 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) @nitink Apps2SD used to perform that function on Eclair2.1 That was a long process, including rooting & partition of SD card. Apps2SD :- Please read This and This. Rooting MileStone :- You already found that Unrooting :- Read This, This. I think, rooting can be reversed by flashing the stock rom, for all android phones though different ways of doing the same. nitink 279 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 ty tarun, will go thru the links any idea about this ? http://www.honeytechblog.com/click-root-unroot-android-mobiles-devices/ now these guys say rooting n unrooting is just a 1 click job
tarun_kabra 204 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) I don't think it should work fine for all devices. It may do the job for some specific devices, but not all. Just check This & This, this method is outdated & unsupported. Its always good to use device specific root/unroot method. amit.shah 51 Report post Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) i just found out an app called Root # All Data2SD card. https://market.android.com/details?id=rappsd.v1&feature=also_installed Its free and moreover it states "this tool creates an embedded EXT2 partition to your SD card (no manual formatting/partitioning required) and then it mounts it" so u don't have 2 worry about creating a partition, the app itself does it...
