hiteshkkk1 327 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 Hello.. We are 3 couples with 3 kids below 5yrs planning for trip to Nainital planned as per below schedule... 26th morning reaching to NDLS & spend in Delhi 27th Spend in Delhi 28th Morning Start to Nainital by Innova, 29 & 30 Stay Nainital 1st Checkout & off to Corbett & night stay. 2nd After Jungle Safari depart to Delhi. Night stay at Delhi 3rd Afternoon departing flight from IGI. I need suggestions as to below points:- 1. Is our plan correct or shud there be some modification. 2. For Our stay in Delhi for 26 & 27 as well as 2, what activities can be tried out?? 3. What area should be preferred in for staying & good family AC hotels in budget of 1000-1200 Rs. (EP). I have sorted out Ginger @ 1250/- per night. 4. Good Hotel in Nainital in budget of max 5000/-. I have already checked Vikram Vintage, Manu Maharani, Naini Retreat, Arif Castles, etc but all are above 7k per night per room. Any other option equivalent in 5k budget?? 5. Same as point no. 4 for Corbett. I have checked some options in 3k range. But do not know what is best. If our members can suggest some good names?? 6. Regarding 4 & 5, is it ok if we go there & find / book hotels since those are weekdays n not weekends?? Will it make substantial difference? 7. Any contact no. for Innova?? I have got quote of 12/km & 200rs per day for Driver + toll + parking at actual. Anything better than this?? 8. While returning, we would reach from Corbett to Delhi till evening & we have flight on 3rd evening at 5pm. Any 24hr check out hotel around IGI so that we can extract full benefit? For point no. 2 i would be happy if much details can be shared like must visit places keeping in mind that we are with kids. I have been to Red Fort & other historical monuments 12 yrs back but they never pleased me. Still, my other friends have not visited so we can cover some of them which are really exclusive. Thanks in advance...

Pulkit Gupta 47 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 well personally i will not prefer 2 days stay in delhi. its burning here not that much places to visit as u r not that much interested in historical places. else u can visit historical places like redfort, qutub minar, chattarpur mandir lotus temple etc... and yes Akashar Dham Mandir thats a new and better place. and dont forget to try food in old delhi if u visit here u will love it. ginger hotel is gud, u can also try Hotel Pal Regency(karol bagh) and Hotel Vishesh Continental (Karol Bagh & Kirti Nagar)both in ur budget. Give me tonight will provide u details of best hotels in your budget in nainital. innova rate is 11/km rest same. the last day hotel - Hotel Lohmod aprrox 2000/- per night per room but checkin and checkout time will be 1200hrs ( can try to make it for 24hrs). will post every thing in details right now got to go. hope it helps. commonman 228 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 I would suggest the following modifications, Delhi is bloody hot right now and not a pleasant place. Delhi to Nainital is about 9 hours (with halts in the way). It would be difficult to travel during day time. 26th morning reaching to NDLS & spend in Delhi 27th Spend in Delhi and start for nainital by around 10 at night. 28th Morning reach Nainital and enjoy whole day 29th morning check-out, visit of 7 taals (lakes) and other local sight seeing, then move to Kaushani (about 4 hrs from Nainital) 29th evening & 30th stay in Kaushani (you would love the sunset, sunrise and climate) 1st morning Checkout & off to Corbett & night stay. 2nd After Jungle Safari depart to Delhi. Night stay at Delhi 3rd Afternoon departing flight from IGI.

Will discuss on this.

amit.shah 51 Report post Posted June 15, 2011 Hello, If u have 1 extra day in Delhi.. u can plan to visit Taj Mahal. Going, sight seeing and returning will consume 1 full day. Secondly, Vikram Vintage and Arif Castle are awesome hotels and worth spending money. Though i like the rooms of Vikram Vintage u and also consider Arif Castle as Your kids will love Arif Castle's Play area. At Corbett.. u can check out the rate of "The Den" hotel. Its nice. mailgujarat 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2011 i would suggest drop Nainital and go to bhimtal. its almost the same, but unexplored. and add Ranikhet. Jim Corbett u can opt for 1 days only and book the Hotel in Dakila jungle region. in bhimtal u can go to hotel Fishermans Lodge. its the best in the town in ranikhet u can go to Hotel HolmFarm Heritage. its old heritage hotel and the best part is u can see Himalaya Range from the Balcony of the hotel. in Jim Corbett u can go to Govt. Dakila Hotel and take Jungle safari in Dakila Region Only. all other region is very poor. so please go to only Dakila. if u need all contacts and hotel phone no please PM me. 1 important thing, Reliance CDMA and Reliance GSM is not working properly in all these cities. so please carry BSNL or IDEA card. for any further information PM.. hiteshkkk1 327 Report post Posted June 16, 2011 We have finalized below prog after too much of discussion within our group & negotiations with hotels... 26/06 Reach NDLS by 3pm. Catch train to Ramnagar (for Corbett) from Old Delhi at 10pm. 27/06 Reach RMR. Booked Hotel Leela Vilas @ 18000/- which includes 3 rooms for 1 night, pickup at RMR stn, all meals, jungle safari, taxes & drop to Nainital on 28/06. 28/06 Reach Nainital. Booked Hotel Classic The Mall @ 10600/- for 3 room cottage per night includes all taxes only. 29/06 Nainital 30/06 We have not planned yet whether to stay one more day in NNT or visit Kausani as our sole purpose is to spend quality time with friends/family & kids. If we feel theres nothing much left in Nainital, we will transfer to Kausani. 01/07 Checkout respective hotel & board train to Delhi at 3pm from Kathgodam. Reach Anand Vihar Railway Stn at 10pm & check into some hotel. 02/07 Shopping in delhi 03/07 Flight at 5pm. Now, i need to clear some doubts as below. 1. We have to catch train to Ramnagar (for corbett) from Old Delhi. need advice on any dharamshala or some good place around Chandani Chowk for getting fresh & spending time till 10pm???) Dont wish to spend too much amount on this component. 2. Also, since we would be reaching NDLS, is it possible to travel from NDLS to Chandani Chowk thru Metro taking too much of luggage?? Its not possible in Mumbai to carry luggage & kids in local train so asking. 3. While returning, we would arrive at Anand Vihar. What would be most proper area to spend 2 nights considering we wish to do some Delhi darshan & some shopping on 02/07 & 03/07 & also go to Airport there after? I feel we should travel to New Delhi & stay in Ginger Hotel (Rs.1232/- per night per room) for those 2 nights. If my plan is correct, how do we travel to New Delhi from Anand Vihar since if our train gets late, we wont get Metro. 4. What would be best place for shopping for ladies. I am asking through reasonable cost point of view & not the premium stores. There is nothing specific to shop but just that we have come to Delhi, would like to do bit of it. I hope my questions are not tooo silly... Thanks in advance for quick & relevant replies.
commonman 228 Report post Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) 2. Also, since we would be reaching NDLS, is it possible to travel from NDLS to Chandani Chowk thru Metro taking too much of luggage?? Its not possible in Mumbai to carry luggage & kids in local train so asking. Many East/North East bound trains now start from Anand Vihar and people carry large bags on the Metro. But it would be difficult to have more than one luggage per person. 3. While returning, we would arrive at Anand Vihar. What would be most proper area to spend 2 nights considering we wish to do some Delhi darshan & some shopping on 02/07 & 03/07 & also go to Airport there after? If my plan is correct, how do we travel to New Delhi from Anand Vihar since if our train gets late, we wont get Metro. Arrange with your hotel to pick you up. Instead of Ginger NDLS, you can opt for Ginger East Delhi. It is much nearer to Anand Vihar. The are also presently offering summer package (3 days/2 night). There are also few hotels near Anand Vihar Terminus including Lemon Tree in EDM Mall and Hotel Clarks Inn in Pacific Mall (both about 1 Km) but they are more expensive.
