csmart 472 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 Mods, think it will be better if merge with Samsung Epic thread rather than having it a separate one..

kshah 452 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 people are so put off with FROYO fiasco on EPIC that now most of them are waiting for scape goats. I am happy with EE03 though its slower but it makes epic stable and more usable with working GPS
ananth001 21 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 not a single user has put up any review.. there are lots @ xda - need to be careful that one doesn't put the debug kernel in the Bootloader spot in ODIN it's better to wait for a day or two to see other's experiences and then go for update
digitalnirvana 646 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 There are reports of EF02 bricking on XDA please check before flashing the ROM.
kshah 452 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 It can be debricked but this version is not rooted yet so not flashing
kshah 452 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) Update: after going thru entire thread at xda, found that rooting is possible by flashing cwm by odin and SU in recovery So on EF02 since 15 mins. First post on rimweb. Not yet tested extensively. But snappier than EE03 IMO Quadrant bench mark score 1637 (EE03 was about 1150) Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk Edited June 18, 2011 by kshah
kshah 452 Report post Posted June 18, 2011 It also consumes about 100 mb lesser RAM than EE03 Go for it, seems better Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
tarun_kabra 204 Report post Posted June 19, 2011 @kshah,Thanks for the fast reviews, surely going to try it. Is GPS working fine on this. Somehow I couldn't get GPS fix on EE02. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
kshah 452 Report post Posted June 19, 2011 Incidently I have never faced GPS problem as severe as others on my device. GPS in EF02 seems to be less precise than EE03 (On EE04 I was used to get 10-12 satellite and 2 mtrs accuracy)
ananth001 21 Report post Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Ok, ODIN'd to EF02 and rooted with CWM purple 3.1.0.1. Definitely it's slow coming from EXT4, as prior to this I was on SFR 1.1.1/EXT4/CWM3.0.2.5. Otherwise everything seems ok, including GPS can't fix rotation lag as the old fix doesn't work better option I hear is to ODIN using the EF02 Plus tar haven't yet tried the EF10 modem And Oh YEAH GTalk Video works with front facing camera Edited June 19, 2011 by ananth001

csmart 472 Report post Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Even I tried it.. Its slow and screen refresh takes time. No advantage over EC05 except black task bar which is gb default. EDIT: I am planning to go back to EC05 as battery also draining fast. from full to less than 10% in 5 hours. this may be due weak signals but it wasn't the case with EC05.
