sougatadc 358 Report post Posted June 27, 2011 BSNL has rationalized the prepaid tariff and introduced all new plans and vouchers. The date of implementation of the New Prepaid Plans and STVs has been 21.06.2011 instead of 10.06.2011 that was announced earlier. There are now 7 plans in all - Saral Anant, 1p/sec, all@49, 2G Special, 3G Special, Pyari Jodi and Student Special. One of the best features of the new offers is a new STV which offers unlimited free roaming incoming for 15 days aginst recharge of Rs. 12 only. And another voucher of Rs. 50 will allow on-net local mobile calls @10p/min. Earlier it used to require recharge of Rs. 149/month which gave a talktime of Rs. 70 only. Now with the new voucher one can save Rs. 29/month for on-net calls @10p/min. But all my try to recharge with new vouchers are failing. I tried several times at BSNL main franchisee, at a good store and finally at BSNL's main office, but to no avail. The helpline IVR is not working. The uniqueness of the software is that when it reaches the point of choosing the option of talking to the CC executive, the call snaps. Can anybody throw some light on this. Anybody has any similar or other experience?
Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted June 27, 2011 I am facing the same problem. No STV recharge possible since past few days for my UP East number..
KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted June 28, 2011 Friends, the new STVs will work for NEW customers from 21/6/2011 and for OLD customers, it will work from 1/JULY/2011 ONLY... This is for TN customers... Please confirm this for your circle...
sougatadc 358 Report post Posted June 28, 2011 ^^^ My dear Kanaga, I confirmed from the BSNL officer dealing with mobiles that no fresh STV is working as of now, not even on new connections. May be it will take some more time. There seems to be an inherent problem of planning. There are now two vouchers of Rs. 50, one for voice and another is for data. But easy recharge syntax does not provide segregation any recharge as voice or data. There are only two options: one is for recharge another is for top-up. To make it foolproof, BSNL should make any one of the two recharges as Rs. 51 (There is already a recharge of Rs. 49). BSNL should have made some dry-run of the STV recharge software before officially launching them. I'm leaving for Mumbai tomorrow, but cannot use the Rs. 12 recharge which would allow me unlimited free incoming on roaming for a fortnight :'(
Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted June 28, 2011 For UP East I got this sms last night:- BSNL Customer can recharge Tariff Vr by Self mobile by sending SMS HELP to 52244.Allowed STVs will be displayed.Select STV.Price will be deducted from balance.. I could activate free incoming tariff voucher..

KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 Don't worry Sougata ji... Ask your friend in Bengal to do a Rs12 STV (special recharge) to your number by TOMORROW onwards(From 1-July-2011)... You can enjoy the benifit then, imho...
sougatadc 358 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 Thanks Kanaga ji for the update. Let me see. I'll ask somebody to do that. Don't know whether it will get through here at Mumbai or not. Let me hope for the best.
sougatadc 358 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 As Rs. 12 offer is not pan-India (it will not work in MTNL areas) and as I'm going to stay for the next few days in Mumbai only, it is useless for me this time. I'll recharge the next time I set out to roam. By that time the hiccups for new STV recharges will not be there, I hope
nitink 279 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 mtnl has launched a Rs 20 payro ( pay recharge) where u will get 250mb data with validity of 1 day for 3g data seems awesome if u r on prepaid. U need to get a recharge done for 20 bucks and not a top up.

By that time the hiccups for new STV recharges will not be there, I hope dont know why govt has created 2 bodies "BSNL & MTNL" ? cant they be merged in to one to avoid hassle ? however in in NCR there is different system. NCR comes in area of MTNL but the customers of UP west get free roaming in noida & ghaziabad (without any voucher) as they are part of UP. similar system is applicable for the customers of haryana for Gurgaon & Faridabad. If the cell caught signal from any BTS located in delhi roaming charges get applicable.

sougatadc 358 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 ^^^ I'm not going to visit any place out of Mumbai this time. And I'm not returning by train. So no recharging of Rs. 12 STV for time being and thus no feedback. Himanshu may post his feedback here, he has already have this recharge on 28th June. Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 I did a self recharge for roaming voucher and its working like a charm. All incoming calls from all operators are free. I did a Rs.3 recharge to get all calls@49 paise and this too works flawlessly. My BSNL number belongs to UP East and I have used this number in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad since 28th of this month. I am posting it from Ahmedabad right now. Its a great plan and a killer move by BSNL.
sougatadc 358 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 Thank you Himanshu for your feedback. Every BSNL subscriber will get benefited by this. Really a great move by BSNL. This is a rare case where BSNL is pioneering something. I'm sure, this will be copied by other operators also. Still on the new STV table on BSNL's official site, it shows that Rs. 50 will allow on-net local+STD @ 10p/min while Rs. 65 will allow only on-net local calls @ 10p/min. I wonder, who will go for the Rs. 65 STV then?
Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 I think that the next thing BSNL should do is to allow sms packs on roaming. That would be another great move. As of now I don't know if there is any such pack with BSNL.
KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted July 1, 2011 Thats a bl00dy typo in that webpage... Let me clearly explain things... 1) Once there was one STV that gives 1p/3sec (20p for 60 sec) LocalOnnet in every circle (Rs54 in TN)... Now this booster was REMOVED, but BSNL changes this STV as 10p/min LocalOnnet Booster... That is now Rs54 STV gives 10p LocalOnnet in TN... Please check with this STV in your circle (1p/3sec_BSNL_Local -----> 10p_BSNL_Local) ==== So Earlier high cost STV for 10p_BSNL_Local was reduced and 1p/3sec_BSNL_Local was REMOVED... 2) There is one STV which gives Local+STD onnet at 20p/min... In TN it is Rs47 STV... In the webpage that is shown under Rs50 STV, but with ONE_BIG_BLUNDER_MISTAKE that is at 10p/min (WRONG) instead of 20p/min (CORRECT) Since I am now using both STVs (one in my number and other in my office staff's number) I can confirm them both... As of now I don't know if there is any such pack with BSNL. On SMS packs, there should not be any roaming restriction. TataIndicom doesn't charge anything extra if SMS is sent while roaming. KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted July 4, 2011 Only TATA and RCom are allowing FREE/cheap_1p SMS while roaming... Infact TATA counts roaming SMS as National SMS... If you have FREE STD_SMS, then roaming SMS will be FREE and if you have just Local_SMS FREE (using some pack) then your roaming SMS will be charged... Even BSNL doesn't counts roaming SMS under FREE_SMS_Count... I am 100% sure and have tested all SMS packs myself (incl 1p sms, 53Rs 10k_SMS_for_60 days, 2k sms).... I am from TN Circle... sougatadc 358 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 Finally I could recharge my mobile with new Rs. 50 STV for 10p/min on-net local calls yesterday. The franchisee was at first refusing, but on my insistence he tried and it was through. I think, the problems in new STVs are over in our circle.
KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) In TN it is Rs54 STV... On doing 54 booster, the message comes as "Voice booster 65 <<OLD BOOSTER RATE>> is activated"... Another method is we have to send "VOICE65" <<SAME OLD RATE FOR 10p BOOSTER>> to 53733 <<still Rs54-S.Tax only gets deducted>> and if we send "VOICE54" the request will be rejected.... I wonder, when will BSNL_TN correct this... Another VERY STRANGE AND FUNNY PROBLEM in BSNL with the Rs12 ROAMING INCOMING STV... I have activated Rs12 STV for my brother in law on 4-JULY and to my number on 8-JULY... Then my BIL was NOT charged for roaming incoming calls (Rs0.00 for all incoming roaming calls)... But I was charged 1p PER CALL IRRESPECTIVE OF DURATION for roaming_incoming_calls Yes, the difference is very very negligible, but still it means roaming incoming is NOT 100% FREE (but 99.99% FREE )... May be there is some error in their system or they have changed their policy within those 4 days... VERY VERY FUNNY...
