Sadikk 301 Report post Posted February 20, 2005 I am using windows XP pro with SP2 and all the possible updates availble. well here am facing this problem after updating my OS in january security updates by microsoft. There is this process running in Windows Task Manager>>> Processes, CISVC.EXE Well problem starts only after i connect my phone to R-connect it. Am using USB data cable with Samsung sch-191. as soon as i start R-connecting this process takes minimum of 50% to 80% source (i.e. CPU usage) its only me suffering with this or some more people facing this problem?? is there any solution?? well my machine is IBM NOTEBOOK-T30, P4 2.2 ghz, 256mb RAM, virus and adware free. Am using AVG anti- virus and Lavasoft AD-AWARE and microsoft anti-spyware BETA to keep my machine clean with virus, trojan and adwares. Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2005 Try to end this process by Right-clinking on it & select End Process and see what happens? Try one more thing Right-Click on My Computer & selest Manage (Or In Administrative Tools, select Services) , when the window opens, goto services and search for this process "CISVC.EXE", when u find double-click on it and read the information about it, i.e., what this process does and what it stands for?. It is used to monitor the memory usage in CIDAEMON.exe and prevent low memory problems. This is an essential system process and should not be removed. This program is an essential system process. dacodecz 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 To keep it short, ms xp sp2 is some real brain dead blunder, look at the numbers of apps that it borkes for no apparent reason :-). If it takes an unusually large amount of memory, it could be a keylogger Press the keys "CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + K" (it can be customized to another keyboard shortcut though, and hence may not always work). Check for a new icon in system tray. Also do a search for cisvc.exe and cisvc.txt. - the executable and the file which stores all the keystrokes. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
