If u know who is StaticElectricity on this forum, u shud get in touch wid him. when i met him personally the first time, he showed me a small (mini) FM broadcasting system that he had made in his 8th Std(Now he is in 1st yr of Engg).

He actually showed me that and we used it to broadcast stuff from that small mic he had, and i could hear his voice on my Radio System at a specific Mhz.

Radio Broadcasting involves Licensing from the govt. Moreover to broadcast songs, u also need telecast rights from the music companies!

If you operate it without license from Govt, you could land up in big trouble!!

Every person has a free space of 5km. There no problems at all, and uc an freely air them, as it's being transmitted nad not sent. MP3 is illegal but Radio is not. You need to have an FM Transmitter which are easly available. But local rules do apply, and as far as i know u need to inform them, no license is needed.

We cannot transmit MP3's legally, we can only transmit legal Audio, and that's Cassets and CDs. Though anyway it will come 76Kbps for FM. Brodacasting MP3 is as legal or illegal as playing them on your PC.

Really interesting topic, guys. I'm in Chandigarh, and me and my friends here would take this to newer heights, if only we knew the exact how-tos of it all. Anybody forthcoming with the information.

Post details here, or make a webpage and provide the link. Thanks a lot.

TuneCast II FM Transmitter

TuneCast II FM Transmitter

Adrian ViegasĀ

January 06, 2004

The radio has always been a great source of entertainment and now Belkin's FM stereo receiver lets you listen to music from your own MP3 player.

The Belkin TuneCast II FM Transmitter connects portable music players to your car or home stereo using FM radio waves. It scans all FM frequencies from 88.1 MHz to 107.9 MHz and selects the best frequency for your music experience. It also memorizes up to four FM frequencies to give you easy and quick access to your favourite songs.

The TuneCast II also features a unique Auto ON/OFF function, which frees you from manually toggling your TuneCast II's ON/OFF switch by simply powering on when an audio signal is detected. If there is no signal detected for a period of 60 seconds, your TuneCast II will switch off. This innovation preserves battery life while making your mobile audio experience simpler.

Just plug the TuneCast II into the headphone jack of your iPod, PDA, MP3, CD, or cassette player; or connect it to your PC or laptop computer. Tune your car stereo or receiver to any clear FM frequency, and enjoy your music experience with more sound and fewer wires.

The TuneCast II Mobile Transmitter (F8V3080) comes in grey and ships with a Belkin Mobile Power Cord that connects to your car's cigarette lighter to provide extended power while on the road.

Price: $49.99

Availability: North America, January 2004

Sounds very interesting...
