Both has great features to the taste of consumers. Decide what appeals you. Personally I feel iPhone is a neat product. If I have money for Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S - I would prefer an iPhone. You can get iPod Touch 32 GB 4th generation for around Rs. 15-16k whereas Iphone 4 32 Gb costs around Rs. 38-39k. Why such a price difference as the only difference between them is 2MP camera as opposed to 5MP in the Iphone 4 and a sim card slot in iPhone 4. The premium is way too much. The Pros is the Apple Ecosystem i.e., developers don't need to think about different Handsets display resolution, processing powers etc. Also the Firmware update mechanism. Imagine iPhone 3GS getting iOS5 update which means your phone would be up to date till it dies. This is really good. Also a 800Mhz Dual core of Iphone 4S is faster than 1.2 Ghz Dual core of Samsung Galaxy SII which is also commendable. But you can get all this in Next Gen iPod Touch. Android on the other hand offers customization but that is also now being restricted by manufactures like Motorola and now even HTC is signing bootloaders. So, you have to go to XDA for support and therefore it is similar to iPhone jailbreak. To unleash your device's true potential you need to Jailbreak. Its important to bring a concept and make it into a reality and then market it wisely even if it is an "icrap"..and the investors have all got their shares doubled even with all these competing products from various manufacturers coming day by day.. the creative geniuses sitting at various labs, all trying bring great tablets, all open source freedom available, but still is there a real competitor with a better specs and performance.. Somehow they are able to set the standards on product design,with minimal flaws.. and to an extend ensures that the customer opens his iwallet to buy the ip@&$.. Demand for the new device extends Apple's lead as the top maker of smart phones as it fends off rivals including Samsung Electronics and HTC that rely on Google's Android software. "Higher-than-expected sales may have been the result of availability at Verizon and Sprint in addition to AT&T, broader international distribution, positive reviews, timing of the iPhone 3GS hardware upgrade availability and possible Steve Jobs tribute-related demand," said Mike Abramsky, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets, in a research note Monday. He had projected sales of about 3 million units for the premiere weekend. The iPhone 4S went on sale Friday in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom, in Apple's first hardware release since the death of former Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs on Oct. 5. The company also has introduced iCloud, for wirelessly synchronizing music, pictures and documents across Apple devices, and iOS 5 mobile software. Customers lined up outside stores in cities including Frankfurt, Tokyo, San Francisco and New York. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was among the first to get a handset at the store in Los Gatos. Sales from last weekend won't be included in Apple's fourth-quarter results, due to be reported today. In the period, profit jumped 62 percent to $6.98 billion on sales of $29.6 billion, according to the average estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. "Based on launch sales, we think 60 percent year-over-year growth for the December 2011 quarter will prove to be conservative," said Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray Cos., in a note to clients Monday. The launch figures aren't "a perfect apples-to-apples comparison" because the 4S model was effectively available for 2.5 days during its debut weekend, while the prior model was only "effectively available" for 1.25 days before the website crashed and inventory was sold out, said Munster. For the quarter now underway, Apple may sell more than 27 million iPhones, Abramsky estimated. He said sales for fiscal 2012 may reach 110 million, and he rates the stock "outperform." Apple said more than 25 million customers are already using iOS 5, the new mobile operating system, in the first five days of its release, according to a statement Monday. More than 20 million customers have signed up for iCloud, a service for storing and accessing content over the Internet. Samsung sues Samsung Electronics sued Apple in Japan and Australia to stop sales of the iPhone 4S, escalating a legal battle between the world's two biggest makers of smart phones and tablet computers. Samsung also sought injunctions against the sale of the iPad 2 and the previous generation iPhone 4 in Japan, the company said in a statement Monday. Samsung claimed Apple's products infringe its patents covering wireless communications and user-interface technologies. Legal conflicts between the rivals have spread globally since April when Apple claimed that Samsung's Galaxy devices "slavishly" copied the iPad and iPhone. An Australian court last week blocked sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, while Samsung filed motions in France and Italy seeking to ban sales of Apple's latest handset. "The legal battle is lasting longer and is more extensive than originally expected," James Song, an analyst at Daewoo Securities Co., said Monday.
