amitroutray 384 Report post Posted December 30, 2011 hi joshm, plz suggest me. it is a UK varizon unlocked samsung galaxy i500 CDMA one. in its back side it is written galaxy S. i have the kies mini. which I have download from samsung site for i500. but after installing it is prompting connect the phone through usb. when i am connecting it, in the phone screen it is coming media player and mass storage. but not coming the third option samsung kies radio button. only shown two option. my phone is not recognize. will i do this update successfully plz tell me what can i do ? waiting for your reply. regards, amit. amitroutray 384 Report post Posted January 10, 2012 one thing before doing this.. now i am using reliance cdma service on it. want to know for this rooting is require. when I ask my technician from whom I take the phone, he said the rooting process is not done. if you want to update, update it but not do the rooting. rooting is change something in side of the phone settings, if something happens he could not fix it. he said. now suggest me what can i do now. go without rooting. joshm 818 Report post Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) all you need to do is open cdma workshop plug in the cabe to phone chk which port it is connecetd by going in device manager of windows then select the same pot number in cdma workshop > Main > COM settings > hit read in the bottom The Phone settings will be displayed in CDMA workshop go to SECURITY > SPC > enter 000000 in the spce below the default_nv > hit SPC button - this will unlock the phone a then go to NAM settings > in DIR_NUMBER option > add your phone number > and reboot phone u ll be good to go Edited January 12, 2012 by joshm Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jabir 5 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 Dear Joshm and friends I have switched to Gb on my fasinate 3 days ago. Its working smoothly but there is some minor problems. With the Android Video Player I am not getting Full Volume audio output through my 3.5mm jack while playing Video with audio files no probs. With the MX Video Player I can solve this issue, But if you have any suggestion please help me. The problem is only while playing video thru headset on video player even if my Media SOund is full and Volume is full the total output is low. But if i use mx player there is good sound like froyo. The phone keeps looping in media scanning and keeps asking for language choice. want to solve by joshm's procedure and having the problem connect to cdma work shop. then I try to solve like your 2nd procedure asking to sunilromy(online). he told me by access to dial pad Dial **87284. then a screen is appear... 1.UART with option modem & pda 2.USB with option modem & pda. Then Select Modem in USB Section.....ok then what.... how to proceed....there is no ok button. as you said under usb i selected modem and what did he mean by revert to pda when done.....please elaborate & help me out..... sorry for bothering you amit. Once you select Modem in USB section, it stays selected. There is no need for OK Button. Revert to PDA is required to be done, otherwise the phone will not be recognized in Mass Storage Mode when connected to a PC for file transfers. For reverting back to PDA mode, again dial **87284 and just select PDA and then back capacitive button on the phone. Do this once you are through with CDMA Workshop and the phone has re booted. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
amitroutray 384 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 hi joshm, updated to gingerbread...but after booting the phone keeps looping in media scanning and keeps asking for language choice... as u said i am follow thisprocess...after dialing **87284 select Modem in USB section then I am opening cdma workshop connected the phone with the PC. after that i am opennig the device manager of windows then selecting the same pot number in cdma workshop > Main > COM settings > but The Phone information not displayed in CDMA workshop and one more thing when I am hitting SPC button it shows to option send or write. which button should be selected. i select the write button in the bottom it shows "failed..connected to COM Port before". and one more thing in NAM settings > in DIR_NUMBER option > add your phone number > then it has four button Load, Save, Read & Write. again which button should be selected. my incomming outgoing calls are ok. but I am stack in the middle. He was online & helped me do that with DFS CDMA tools 3.3.0.7 but for some reason I could not connect to cdma workshop. this tool not recocnize my Port. don't know why. again thanx to sunilromy. and also jasmin. who recomended sunil. thanx every body. amit.
