Telecom major Vodafone launched a new Android-operating system based 3G handset 'Vodafone Smart' in the country.

Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 processor and Android 2.2.1 OS, the handset is designed for tech savvy customers providing them access to mobile apps, games, internet and social networking platforms on-the-go.

The handset comes with built-in features like 2.8 inch capacitive touch display, 2 mega pixel camera, video recording and MP4/3GP playback, up to 32GB expandable memory (2GB card free), stereo FM and MP3.

The smartphone is priced at Rs 4,995.

what is the internal memory of these phones as some softwares install on internal memory only ( You have to root the mobile to shift it to external memory)

Most of the low cost android mobiles have low internal memory and it is of no use

I have inquired two vodafone stores in delhi and both didn't have this particular handset.

They were even unable to ensure if they can get it for me.

I feel Unlocked mobile for Rs3591/- is cheaper than a locked mobile for Rs3100, even if you are going to use it for particular operator only...

And yesterday I visited Vodafone Store at their Delhi head-office in Okhla.

This phone was not available even there :-/
