ani_meher 42 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 I am staying in Pune for past few years on rent, though my permanent address is of Thane. I am ashamed to say that I have never voted in any election yet I want to vote this time. Enough of idleness! I have few questions: 1. What is the general procedure to register yourself as a voter? 2. If I want to vote in Pune in my area, is it possible? What documents will be required from me? If you have questions on voting too, please post in this thread. Lets vote and kick the scum out of office this time!

You are provided a voter ID card which shows that you are a resident of that area. In addition to a voter ID card (issued for the same constituency where you are going to vote) you can show any of other documents as your identity/residence proof such as passport / ration card / driving license / office ID card issued by state/central office which shows you are resident of the same address against which you are registered in voter's list.
