::: VA ::: 531 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 I had often wondered how the new age stylus works for capactive touch screens. Since they are suppose to respond due the charge in our cells what not. Its often fascinated me alot. Whenever I observed these new stylus I couldnt find anything special done to them to make new screens respond. So I experimented with my moto photon using stylus from my old touch pro 2. All I had to do was remove the plastic tip it has and it responses accurately and brilliant. My dummy conclusion so far is that any inductive metal would make your screen respond as on end your skin is holding it and on the other the screen. Please suggest or advice if my understanding is correct. I think then anybody who fancies being able to write or use stylus on new age phones & tablets doesnt really have to use any fancy stylus like all the hype in case of galaxy note. Karthik R 246 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 For an object to work as a capacitive touch stylus it must be sufficiently conductive i.e it should be able to conduct electricity between the user and the screen. sougatadc 358 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 Capacitive stylus are sometimes cheap or costly so are capacitive knit gloves. Any conductive material can not be used for the purpose to prevent damage to the screen. However, simple stop-gap uses can be done with some handy materials also.
