manujgupta 5 Report post Posted April 26, 2012 Hi All, Have to change the no. on my DInc. MEID is not registered. Tried the old method. I have already zeroed out the MEID and ESN of my DInc, but when I try to write the new ESN in qxdm, it gives me an error saying that item is read only. The ESN of the new sim that I have starts with '80'. Have read somewhere that ESN's starting with '80' are actually PESN's. Is there any way to calculate MEID from the PESN. Also, please guide me if there is anything that I am doing wrong and how do I write the new ESN on my phone. Thanks in advance Manuj Gupta

manujgupta 5 Report post Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) @vijay: please elaborate a bit. I changed SCM to 3A from 2A. As far as i know that 2A makes the phone work on ESN and 3A on MEID. Edited April 27, 2012 by manujgupta

Genius 817 Report post Posted April 27, 2012 ok i found the method in my notes somewhere MEID to pESN convert MEID to SHA-1 hash and take last 6 digits and add 80 in front of it so pESN is 80 + (last 6 SHA-1 hash of MEID) ---------------- MIED = A1000000F222F2 SHA-1 Hash = 6285a01d4905c4a373b00f770bc192e264580c77 pESN = 80 + 580c77 pESN = 8058C77 NOW where on earth you can get rest of the digit in front of SHA-1 hash So leave all efforts and enjoy - bird watching
manujgupta 5 Report post Posted April 27, 2012 @parin: Thanks for the pointers. But my problem now is to where to lay my hands on Samsung Galaxy Pop. Finally am getting the MEID of my DInc registered from a distinguished member of our forum. Guess, should have done this long back. Lazy me.
