::: VA ::: 531 Report post Posted October 4, 2012 i feel skeptic after evo design 4g ota ics. even though the hardware specs are better than dinc2 it still suffers performance lag & battery drain after ics. it might not be same for custom roms. but stock ota ics for all phones doesnt seem enterprising now. krishna.tungal 7 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 If you want use UKB (lates is UKB II 1.3) you can use it for GSM, after flashing the ROM, there is a firmware which you need to flash, and then, there is a GSM trick to make the GSM (2G+3G) to work. I have installed it esterdy for my friend who is also using Inc2. GSM works without any issues in UKB. this ROM has Sense4 to download, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553357 there download 1. UKB II 1.3 2. UKB II 1.3.1 (this patch need to flash in recovery after flashing the above ROM) 3. ics firmware (includes newer .320 radio) after flashing the above and all set up, do the following. (from 4th post of UKB thread) Step 1: Dial *#*#4636#*#* to get into test mode Step 2: Phone Information > Set preferred network type: GSM only. Then your phone will start crashing, until you do the step 3 fix. Step 3: (terminal commands) > adb shell # su # sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db 'update secure set value="3" where name="preferred_network_mode"' # reboot Thanks to nitsuj17 and others from XDA-Developers for creating this wonderful ROM

Will download this once I am back to home. in mean while someone post the outcome. Kapil ji, 'if' one gets the phone S-OFF with XTC Clip, then is this the ROM which needs to be flashed? This seems to be 446MB, while in an earlier port you said 470MB... Could you please advise which CT ICS ROM to download 'if' I get XTC Clip from somewhere. japinder 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2013 Got an XTC Clip S-OFF done & flashed the Chinese ICS ROM. The only tricky/scary part was overwriting the HBOOT manually to the partition, since flashing Froyo didn't revert the HBOOT for me. The rest was easy, although confusing & time consuming. I must say, it looks & feels like a new phone. Totally worth the bother. Downloaded & flashed Chinese ICS ROM version 4.08.1401.3 from the link given by Kapil ji on second page. It failed to boot the first time. Flashed it again & it worked. Then flashed the modified version 4.08.1401.5 (without Chinese content) plus Google Apps from XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693033. Just loving it!
