avishekghosh 45 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 MTS will soon launching a new service called Mobile as Point of Sale( mPOS). mPOS user have to put the mPOS attachment (portable card reader) on an MTS Smartphone or tablet through a 3.5 mm jack.They have to swipe the credit card or debit card, enter transaction amount. The total bundle (MTS MTag 3.1, mPOS attachment & One year Data plan) would be priced apprx 3000 INR to 4000 INR. Do you mean the phone/tablet will communicate through 3.5mm jack? If yes, then its not possible. 3.5mm jack is used for sound signals. May be this jack will be used to support the POS attachement as a hinge or like. @ ni0987, you aren't correct. 3.5mm port can work as data/power port too. Have you seen apple ipod nano? It has 3.5mm port doing all these.
