The Nexus 7 Tablet ships with Jelly Bean on board and Galaxy Nexus, the Motorola Xoom, and the Nexus S wil get it from mid july via over the air update. What's NEW? Fast & Smooth with Project Butter With buttery graphics and silky transitions. We put Android under a microscope, making everything feel fast, fluid, and smooth. Moving between home screens and switching between apps is effortless, like turning pages in a book. More reactive and uniform touch responses mean you can almost feel the pixels beneath as your finger moves across the screen. Jelly Bean makes your Android device even more responsive by boosting your device’s CPU instantly when you touch the screen, and turns it down when you don’t need it to improve battery life. To ensure a consistent framerate, Android 4.1 extends vsync timing across all drawing and animation done by the Android framework. Everything runs in lockstep against a 16 millisecond vsync heartbeat — application rendering, touch events, screen composition, and display refresh — so frames don’t get ahead or behind. Android 4.1 also adds triple buffering in the graphics pipeline, for more consistent rendering that makes everything feel smoother, from scrolling to paging and animations. Android 4.1 reduces touch latency not only by synchronizing touch to vsync timing, but also by actually anticipating where your finger will be at the time of the screen refresh. This results in a more reactive and uniform touch response. In addition, after periods of inactivity, Android applies a CPU input boost at the next touch event, to make sure there’s no latency. USB Audio USB audio output support allows hardware vendors to build hardware such as audio docks that interface with Android devices. Multichannel audio Android 4.1 supports multichannel audio on devices that have hardware multichannel audio out through the HDMI port. Multichannel audio lets you deliver rich media experiences to users for applications such as games, music apps, and video players. For devices that do not have the supported hardware, Android automatically downmixes the audio to the number of channels that are supported by the device (usually stereo). Android 4.1 also adds built-in support for encoding/decoding AAC 5.1 audio. App Encryption Starting with Android 4.1, Google Play will help protect application assets by encrypting all paid apps with a device-specific key before they are delivered and stored on a device. This is probably to stop piracy of paid apps. Most probably say goodbye to sharing a paid app in jellybean. Smart App Updates Smart app updates is a new feature of Google Play that introduces a better way of delivering app updates to devices. When developers publish an update, Google Play now delivers only the bits that have changed to devices, rather than the entire APK. This makes the updates much lighter-weight in most cases, so they are faster to download, save the device’s battery, and conserve bandwidth usage on users’ mobile data plan. Google on Wednesday launched its Nexus 7 tablet, at its Google I/O conference in San Francisco for $199 (Rs 11,000) that will run on the Android 4.1(Jelly Bean). Nexus 7 tablet is made by the Taiwanese company Asus rather than the firm's own Motorola hardware unit. The tablet can now be ordered on Google Play in US, UK, Canada and Australia. Also, along with the order consumers will a $25 credit to spend in Google Play for free movies and magazines. It will start shipping mid-July Andy Rubin, senior vice president of mobile and digital content posted in Google's official Blog. Nexus 7 comes with powerful specifications including a 1.3 Ghz quad core Tegra 3 processor, a GeForce 12 core graphics processor, and 1 GB of RAM, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS displays, Near Field communication chip and up to nine hours of video playback. It also features Google's Chrome browser at its default option, the first Android device to do so.The operating system of Nexus 7, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) includes an intelligent keyboard that predicts words as you type them, support for offline voice typing, 18 new input languages, and accessibility improvements. Flash won't be supported in Android 4.1, new installs to be disabled on August 15th Source In the wake of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean's announcement this week, Adobe has issued a note saying that it hasn't been developing and testing Flash against it and there won't be any "certified implementations" offered — in other words, the age of Flash on smartphones is effectively drawing to a close. Looks somewhat believable because intel chose Karbonn for Zolo, the first Intel Atom Processor Android in the world. And Karbonn has been able to deliver it. So who knows, they may be having the capability to pull this off! Karbonn Planning To Launch Jelly Bean Tablet, Smartphone in September Source Indian manufacturer Karbonn seem to be jumping on the Jelly Bean train pretty fast. The company revealed in media interaction earlier today that it plans to release an Android 4.1 smartphone and a tablet in September this year. According to information released by the company on these upcoming Jelly Bean devices, the smartphone will be dubbed as A25 and will feature a 4.5-inch display. On the other hand, the tablet will be known as ST4 and it will have a 9.7-inch display with Gorilla Glass protection. Company has also stated that it plans to price the tablet around INR 11,000. While we are sceptical about the timeline and whether the company will be able to deliver Jelly Bean devices this fast or it is just trying to cash in the Jelly Bean hype to get some media coverage. If it is indeed able to launch the devices, it would certainly be a big feat for manufacturer, which is still trying to get in the groove of smartphone/tablet arena. Google is expected to release the Android 4.1 source code in mid-July and then only manufacturers like Karbonn will be able to get the work started on their Jelly Bean devices.
